  • Braided Lines

This is a feeler thread to see how many people would be interested in this product/service.

I have been wanting a better aesthetic fuel line while preserving function and not just removing the heat tape on the stock lines. So I teamed up with my friend and fellow engineer who has experience with braided lines to help me with a braided fuel and EVAP line.

What we would be able to offer is a plug and play SS PTFE braided fuel and/or EVAP line with factory style connections in any of the typical line/fitting colors (red, black, and silver) as well as custom length lines and fittings for fuel systems, cooling systems, etc.

Please post if you would purchase this product and what configuration you would want (fuel and/or EVAP line, LS or LT, line color, and fitting color).

    Thanks!

Some other products – mostly VW stuff…

Just out of curiosity what fittings have you been using? I've heard that off branded (Summit and Jegs) fittings are junk. Going to be ordering a bunch of fittings for the fuel system soon.

What are you going to be using instead?

Not to totally derail the thread, but this is a very informative article about the different brands of -AN fittings, particularly the internal size differences between them. I've always liked Earl's fittings and after this article that's all I'll use unless they don't have what I need. They seem to have the most consistency across the brand with regards to proper internal size and overall quality. Summit seems to do well in this comparison too and they're definitely cheaper, but I've noticed things like the threads being rougher on the "house brands" so unless I'm really strapped for cash I've stuck with with Earl's.

I gave Brent the go ahead to post a feeler thread to see if there was any interest. I think it's a great idea since a bunch of folks here have been changing the stock fuel lines.

Earls or Russells. If Brett can get the hook up on what we need that would be great

We are looking at using Russell fittings. The redesigned fuel rail fitting for the fuel line to be more specific.

Im going to replace the fuel lines very soon on my car Brett, so if you wanted to give me a quote on something comparable to what TJ did, im interested.

I dont feel like its a difficult project, but theres value in doing something like this IMO. Im tired of piecing stuff together, took me 5 trips to the parts store to do my front suspension. The racetronix kit obviously wasnt plug and play either... being my first time working with AN lines i figure ill probably buy 3-4 wrong fittings and hold up progress on that too. Aint nobody got time fo dat!

Whats the significant of braided lines? Just being able to handle more pressure?

                          And look good.

Will these go from under the car up the back and in. Mine would need to make it to the front fuel rail. 93 style. Ive found them for like 175 or 150 i think it was on line.
