  • Wanted: third gen rear axle

Looking for a 9 or perferably a 10 bolt with functioning posi, and 3:23-3.45 rear gear. This is going into my dads 1988 iroc, and we are looking for a better ratio with posi to go behind the auto. It currently has 2.73 with a weak posi. Let me know what you have, have cash and are willing to pick it up.

I could possibly be selling my 10 bolt with drums, TruTrac and 3.73. Is that something you're interested in? I'm not gonna lie to you thought, the rear was rebuilt for a noise. So I built it, and it still makes a noise. Now, I'm not sure if it's the rear or not, but if you're interested in it, I can try and figure that out. Honestly I'm more so suspecting the noise is from my transmission.

Only reason I'm considering selling is because I'm toying with going to a different axle all together.

3.73 is a little aggressive i think for a stock 350 and 700r4. The drums wont be needed as we are swapping it over to LS disk brakes all around. I will see what else comes up, and if nothing better we may pick this up. If you confirm if the diff or trans is making the noise, let me know.

Does it have good limited slip? Any noise or leaks? What would you want for the axle?

Last time I dumped the clutch I went all over the road so I'm assuming yes. No noise. No leaks. Make me an offer. Just keep in mind it won't be out of the car until my engine swap is done.

Wow, mi f-body is coming through. My dad was struggling to find an axle and without any more effort than a post I have 3 solid options.

Drum to disc isn't a seemless swap. I'm currently using drum to disc adapters from Flynbye and I hate them.
