1993 GMC Typhoon with 85,000 miles. Rare all wheel drive, 4.3 V6 turbocharged. #1687 of 2200. Fresh tune-up, new Dynomax exhaust, new gas tank and fuel pump, aluminum underdrive pulleys, runs and drives. Has a bad headgasket. All the cladding is there, although a couple pieces need to be repaired. Some rust, on the rear corners. When it's running good, it's fast...when these first came out the car magazines raced one against a Ferrari, and it won. Look it up on Kelly Blue Book, even in fair condition it's valued at $11,000. I'm asking $7250. Here it is, to all you car lovers out there. This is my 1993 GMC Typhoon # 623 of 4000. I have been working on this truck for about 8/9 months. Well here's the run down... New 4.3 direct port turbo engine 6000 miles put on it since istalation, transmission, Kinagowa 20G turbo with spring loaded internal waste gate , cold air intake, mechanical boost gage, dual pillar gage holder, air conditioning compressor and components, radiator, electric fan with thermostat, pro comp 3" drop kit, plugs, wires, cap, rotor button, battery and blow off valve added. This truck is 97 out of 100 still not perfect but so close, the retail N.A.D.A on this truck is 14999 dollars. I pored lots of time and money into this truck but my family and school are just more important. i am asking 11800 for this truck but that price is nagotiable. I have a 1992 Typhoon with a 2 week old fresh paint job. No accidents just stock paint started to fade. Typhoon has 4 brand new tires on stock POLISHED rims that are freshly polished to shine nice. 1993 GMC Typhoon - $9000 (Hope Mills)



For sale is a 1993 GMC Typhoon. It is black with black leather interior, has a nice stereo system, black aftermarket Z06 rims w/good tires. Typhoon has about 103,000 miles. MANY new parts and a lot of maintenance has been done to it over the last few years. The Typhoon is never driven and just takes up garage space. The Typhoons are getting to be pretty rare. This is not in perfect condition but it is a nice driver and has been maintained as such. For an 18 year old vehicle it is in incredible condition. The body and all of the cladding are also in great condition. Mechanically, the only things it needs are for someone to tune it and adjust the wastegate and Velosyty chip. A bigger, rebuilt 20g Mitsubishi turbo, chip and new wastegate was installed and this is why adjustments need to be done. It drives just fine as it is but the tuning will get the performance where it should be from the modifications. Once it is tuned and set up, this Typhoon should be running the ¼ mile in the low 12's. Cosmetically, there are a few interior parts that need to be fixed or replaced but certainly nothing major. I have a list of all things that have been done to it over the last few years and I also have many pictures that I could send. We have a lot of money in this Typhoon and am not hurting financially so we are not giving it away. Please look them up before making any inquiries. The market is not the best for them right now but once people stop selling them for nothing the value is sure to go up. There are not many of them out there and they are becoming more scarce every year. I do expect these to be highly collectible at some point in the future. It gets a lot of attention wherever it goes and once it is dialed in properly it is sure to surprise some unsuspecting folks at the drag strip.

The pictures were taken a while back up north but the vehicle is unchanged (only not as clean - could use another top-to-bottom detailing job). The new parts added since then are unseen in the pictures anyway.

The price is firm at $9000. No trades.

Mine is a 1992 Forest Green Metallic w/ Gray ( 1 of 82 ) for 1992

Production data is as follows:

As you probably know Typhoon's and Syclone's (SYTY's) usually come in one of three flavors,
1. (original low millage collector),
2. (the beat up driver),
3. (the modified 1/4 mile dominater).

Mine is the last of the three. I have most of the history from the previous owners, and contact information for them.

The Engine is a built (forged) 4.3L Typhoon motor with many up grades,
All the normal pumps and sensors, hoses were replaced during build
TRW pistons,
Eagle rods,
Forged crank, (very expensive)
Hi volume oilier,
Harden bearing set,
Ported L-35 heads
Vortech valve covers
APR hardware (through out the motor),

Front diff speed locker (rare, of the hundreds of Sytys I've seen I have only come across one other),

Adjustable electronic fan temp regulator kit,

180 thermostat,
Clear hose inter cooler kit,
Hi flow intercooler pump kit. (just about doubles the charge cooling)
Vent to atmosphere PCV kit, (metal filters)
New shocks (all four)
Air ride elimination kit.
New front A-arm bushings
Mini coolant catch tank
The truck is wired for a large stereo system, but currently just has a modern cd/dvd/Ipod deck with alpine speakers.
Lots of extra parts that are hard to find Typhoon only
More mods/parts but you get the idea, the list just goes on and on.....

The Ty looks black, but it is dark green, it was repainted a shade darker in color (the original GM paint from this era isn't very good) the paint on it now is single stage PPG (so it can be buffed all you want with no worry of damaging a clear coat), the cladding was up-graded to Paul's fiberglass (no longer made) except for the front bumper which is urethane (this is a very nice upgrade because the original cladding gets waves in it) I have two sets of tires, one on the car (for the street), and a track set with drag radials (slicks) for the rear.

Sleeper, It doesn't get very much attention from the general public, but I am almost always asked about it by "car guys" every time I take it out.

The millage is 88,XXX (may increase I drive it every day)
Their is under 5000 on the motor.

1992 GMC Typhoon (Jimmy T15) - $11000 (Ventura, CA)



I am selling this rare (Only 2,497 built) 1992 GMC Typhoon. The truck has been well maintained and is in excellent condition. The truck has 85,000 miles, has not been modified and runs great. The lower part of the motor was rebuilt roughly 25,000 miles ago at Motor City GMC in Bakersfield, CA. The turbo spools up fast and this truck will throw you back in your seat under acceleration. Everything works perfectly except for the cruise control (which does not operate over 45mph), the rear rear air leveling system (the air shocks leak), and the front seat lumbars (air hoses need repair). Lastly, the turbocharger started making a faint bearing whine 200 miles ago. This play toy is a joy to drive, and even 20+ years old, will still surprise people with its power. 1991 GMC Syclone 4.3 Turbo AWD. 118000 Miles - $8000 (westland)

Runs good and transmission rebuilt about 2000 miles ago. Very quick off the line as well it should be. Has higher stall converter then factory. Has flowmaster muffler and chip upgrade. Battery/brakes/fuel pump replaced about 2 years ago. Alternator was replaced mabye 3 years ago. Decent stereo with subwoofer. Looks good, but not perfect by any means. I would rate the body 6.5 out of 10, but everything is there and complete expect the wheel wells under the hood. Still can turn some heads when driving down the road.

Here is what she needs. ABS light is on. Needs steering/suspension components. (Pitman arm/idler arm, probably tie rods.. etc. Could use new tires soon, plenty of tread, but some dry rot.
Got no time to work on it and no time to drive it. . . I have maybe put 200 miles on the vehicle in the last 2 years. $8000 No trades. . . Cash ONLY
