Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

Lol I DON'T have lpps. Mine were the short ran stainless pacesetter ones.(ebay) like Joel mentioned maybe the guy got sued because I pulled off my painted legit pacesetters and these were exactly the same... just stainless. They fit like a glove. I almost sold them this winter but decided to hold on to them. I think I could get some good money for them lol the seller was called like eworldsales. He is gone now though.
Sent from my SCH-I405
I stand corrected.
Mine are stepped, still fit good. I only bought them based on price and stainless.

I am curious, can you take a pic of the steering shaft clearance?
It's close but she doesn't touch. Probably would of I hadn't done new motor mounts.
let me go snap one real quick
edit: probably could of used a dent or a bit of grinding on shaft but

To Better answer your question earlier Jon the reason people want LPPs is because they are stainless and cheap. No doubt in my mind you could make a comparatively priced product that doesnt have all these issues.
Yup, I would take the hassle of the LPP any day of the week for the combination of stainless steel and the price.
That said - all things considered, mine fit pretty darn good and even when I didn't have a lot of clearance it was easy to adjust it so I did get clearance. I didn't have near the problems that Joel describes.
That said -- it was my understanding that LPP was based on Pacesetters but hugged tighter and were stepped, and then the OBX and eBay knockoffs were all based off of LPPs. I vaguely remember a thread or post by LPP that explained their beliefs on the other stainless headers out there. If memory serves correctly, they said that they shipped one set of LPP headers overseas or to some asian name in California and within a few weeks there were knockoffs on ebay.
When we made our version 1 headers there was a guy that bought a set when we had them in stock and his name was like wan lee and wanted them shipped to Cali. so we sent him a set.Well about 3 months later there was Chinese knock-offs selling on Ebay. Well the good thing for us was we were already in production of our version 2 headers when his Chinese knockoffs hit ebay.
So everyone that bought our version 2 headers were really happy. Everyone that bought the Chinese knockoffs on Ebay were not I guess some people though they were buying our headers but they weren't.

Right on, trying to figure out what set-ups are working and what aren't. So many versions on the same stuff makes this confusing, lol.
F*** it, skipping headers, here comes a turbo kit!
If i were in your shoes id make a fresh design based on the LPPs that ISNT stepped (for both plug access and fit) and uses a parallel 3" collector. I would buy that! I changed 7/8 of my plugs with ease from the bottom last week. Less than 2 hours for the whole job. I dont see that happening with the big tube headers.
Also maybe this helps but here are the primary complaint areas ive seen:
Pacesetter style
-drivers collector sometimes hits floorboard under throttle. I dented my floorboard a tad but this was very minor in comparison to what i had to deal with on the other ones!
