the order of things you said, just not how i would do it. The very first thing i would change on a straightline build is the trans. Toss in an 80e or 400, and sell the 60 before i even put headers on and have a chance to hurt it. No joke. I wouldnt allow that thing a chance to cost me money.
Practical? No but im not practical and i think it makes sense in the long run. I trust a 10 bolt a helllllll of a lot more than a 60e.Last edited by JoeliusZ28; June 27th, 2012, 06:40 PM.-Joel

So youre spending $2400 to beef up a $300 part that is no more or less likely to break than the trans? Id rather take my chances replacing a $300 10 bolt than a $1000 trans. Im all for the 9" because i like one-time investments, just wouldnt do it firstOriginally posted by erk2581 View PostTrans is cheaper to fix when it breaks...9" comes first...period. 9" is 2400. Trans is 800-1100.

I think your points are mute Joel plenty of guys have broken 10 bolts with stock cars both the rear and trans will require upgrading.Doing less with more

I don't think a 10 bolt is going to take more than a handful of transbrake launches with 320RWHP.
Just as a stock 4L60E doesn't like much more than 400RWHP.
They both need to be replaced.
