Just make sure you read the fine print on the 20% coupon, they added exclusions. The tool cabinet I bought from them used to be advertised on their website for $369 -- in store it was $399.99. You could use the 20% coupon, AND they would honor the internet price bringing the cost down to UNDER $300 (plus tax, of course). It was a damn good deal, but they caught on and added the exclusions for tool cabinets, jacks, compressors, etc.

Every single thing I've bought from there broke in no time. Grinders, Torque wrenches, and most recently my vise for 75.00. First time I EVER used it, went to bend this aluminum bar back to straight(I damn near bent it by hand) and the second I applied just a little pressure, the POS broke! Not the handle, but the teeth! I refuse to go there anymore. If I buy jackstands, that my life will solely depend on while being under a vehicle, they will not be from Harbor Freight. They may be trustworthy like the one dude said, but it only takes once and you have 3000+ lbs on your chest. Just my $.02.It's totally up to you though.

ive had bad experiences with them and good. the diegrinder i bought from them wont die and ive put it through hell the impact wrench i bought on the other hand was the biggest piece of crap it would spin a finger tight nut. ive bought their jacks before for a friend, he used them and had no issues with them. otherwise try a local autoparts store. they usually have some on the store floor

only difference in harbor freight stands and sears is the color, I know this is cause I have a set of both, and a set of the bigger HF ones too. Now I dont buy everything from there either.

Ive had the best luck ever with there colored metric 3/8 sockets. I do not own impact sockets (always used to borrow my dads) but now all I use is a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter on the impact gun and the harbor freight sockets. Ive had them for years and there are quite a few members here who can attest to how hard they were abused. Yet to break one. Jack stands I think I would have to inspect though, if my life is on the line, im looking at the quality of the materials AND the welds.

They're clean welds. Just as clean as Sears. It's not like they're spot welded. They can't advertise 4 ton jacks that only hold 500lbs.

I hear ya.. every one has there good and bad products. I've just been let down too many times to go back. I get all excited when I get this new tool or whatever then I get it out for the first time and "clunk"! It's like getting that awesome remote-controlled car for christmas then fiinding out the controller is messed up and won't work. HUGE letdown lol. As far as jack stands go, it seems like they would have to be approved by a safety corp. like OSHA or something before they could be sold for retail. All that type of stuff is usually regulated. I just refuse to go there anymore for obvious reasons. But yeah, if they're just like the sears stands, then it's pry a solid choice.

My boss at my old job had his finger chopped clear off at the first knuckle when he was using a vice to compress a spring. Casting broke and the spring went flying out of the vice, taking the tip of his finger with it. He was so cool and calm about it that he packed up everything he was working on, grabbed his finger tip, dressed his wound, called 911, and then walked a number of blocks out to the main road. When the ambulance saw him, they said "Yeah we're looking for a guy who had his finger cut off..." They didn't even think it was him because he was being so cool tempered
