  • WTB Dash Pad 1992 RS

Looking for a 92 Camaro RS Dash pad for the co-workers car.
He purchased one but the bolt holes do not lign up (Z28 dash pad).

Let me know if anyone has a good clean pad to work with.
    Thanks
    C

That's the general consensus - however it does not appear to be true. We have a dash pad that the mounting tabs will not lign up from the Z28 pad. Not just off a little bit - completely different.

          Interesting...my Z28 has a dashpad from a mid 80's Firebird.

i would like to see pics as well, side by side view. How far are they off ? 1 or 2 inches ? .5" ? or totally different mounting points completely

He will be bringing it over and I will take photos.

Not only are the mounting points different - the speaker grill design is different too.

                  Per request,

Here are the photos of the dash pads. As you can see, they are NOT the same. Different sizes, different curves, different grilles, and different mounting locations.

The one on TOP is the new dash pad. The one on the bottom is the 1992 Camaro dash pad (To our knowledge, these haven't been swapped on this car)

Here is the Grilles close up. The 92 Dash pad is the cracked one on the left.

And the mounting hole differences. The 92 Dash pad is on the TOP
The Bottom is the new un-cracked dash pad. Panning from Right to Left.

thats weird, I never seen one like that, could it be a berlinette dash maybe ? or aftermarket reman of some sort? but both of mine look the the cracked one from the 92

Based on looking at many beautiful cars today at the Meet and Greet, The pad in question is a Pontiac FIREBIRD Dash Pad.
MUCH different from the Camaro dash pad.

So, again, if anyone has a known good pad (No cracks) for a Camaro, please reply here.
                            Thanks
