You know that you don't need to run a ground all the way back to the engine compartment, don't you? Just ground to body near the battery and ground strap from engine block to body will suffice. That cable is heavy.
When in doubt, Whip it out !

Yes, the 27' 1/0 is to run from a junction box next to the battery to the spare tire compartment in the trunk. The 19' 4 awg is to go from a junction box in the spare tire comp to the fuse box next to the steering column so that I can have stuff like the radio and interior lights powered off the yellow top.

Haha, thanks...I always need a hand

Besides this second battery thing, I think I need to install a new alarm because the one I have the ground while running wires don't work so I can't bypass the VATS, I'm working on swapping the interior from tan to black, I need to get a wiring harness for the bose radio i have and hook that up with an amp to the stock speakers plus I want kick panel speakers, I'm working on replacing the molded carpet in the sides of the trunk with plastic pieces like in a hard top and installing one of the locking shelves, I have a couple sets of non-grid taillights with the black stripe that I want to change the coloring locations and make led lights for, I have heated mirrors to install, I want to swap the 91-92 aero gfx for the older style, I want to shave the door handles and marker lights and trim, shave the gas door and re-route it to behind the license plate, and take out the section of the front bumper between the headlights and paint the car black, I wand to either install a computer in the trunk or just get a tablet to dock above the HVAC controls, I'd like to at least a 350 LS motor and rebuild it and put in a blower with scoop, I'd like to swap to manual trans, I want to find a posi disk rear end, I want to put in headers with true dual exhaust, want to put some spark plugs in the exhaust, I'd like to install airbag suspension, smoke all the exterior lights, swap the yellow print stuff to white, put in LEDs all around, power release for the rear pin of the top...that's all I can think of right now but i'm sure i'm forgetting one or two things

Most of those things aren't going to happen for quite some time though...

man, you have some big plans ! I liking the LEDs, I have LEDs in my truck also. I also have some air ride stuff laying around my garage, so hit me up, and we can do some moving around when the weather gets warmer.

Yea, except now I'm starting to think I'd rather find a 69 Camaro Convertible, 70 Challenger Convertible, or 70-71 'Cuda Convertible, ...but until I can find one I can afford, I'll just continue to work on this.

Here's a pic of how I want the tail lights to be...I know it's easy to make the orange red, but I don't know how I'll make the red orange...and then I have to figure a way to create the actual LEDs to function properly...

Ok, I did a lot of calling and this is what I found...None of the Mickey Shorr locations sell battery cable and neither does Home Depot, AutoZone, PepBoys, Advance Auto Parts, or Sound and Secure (7mile and Telegraph). Orielly had a 6' roll for $10.99. CarTunes charges $9/ft for 1/0 and $4.50/ft for 4. RKST charges $5.45/$0.99. Styln Street Customs charges $4.00/$2.00. Civic Audio has $11/ft or $6.50/ft 1/0 and $5/ft, $3/ft, or $2/ft 4. I also called a place called Xtreme Custom Car Audio, but the phone number I found was disconnected, and Sound Security INC but either they were busy or not open on the weekend because I got a voicemail. InnovativeWiring.com charges $2.85/ft regardless of gauge.

Many people have said they have gotten cable from some of the places I called, so it might be different at different locations. Also, the proce of copper is very high right now so places that normally stock it or have in the past may not be now...FYI

Needless to say, I went to RKST for the 4 gauge. It's very flexible cable, and I think it's actually stereo cable (which from what I've found is much higher quality and typically much more expensive). I paid for 19' but judging from my arm span they gave me closer to 24'. Awesome place.

I just got the stuff I ordered from InnovativeWiring.com yesterday, and I am very impressed. He went out of his way to the cables he assembled are immaculate, and he went out of his way to bag the parts separately based on the different cables I'm making. He also included in each bag exactly what parts are included and which cable they are for, so assembling them will be a breeze for me. I recommend him to anyone wanting to upgrade the stock wiring in any car.

Of the stuff I got from innovative? Maybe I'll do an "unboxing" video, if I get around to it.
