Check out ebay, I think I got mine for like $140 shipped there a couple of years ago. I'll be getting another one soon, that made a huge difference in the feel of the car, as well as the poly trans mount I installed at the same time, and that was on my V6 Camaro. . . Can't imagine how much different it would feel in a V8 car.

Yeah, that's why I upgraded in the Camaro, the carrier bearing went out on the stock one, and you can't just replace that, the whole DS has to be replaced. Have you checked at the junkyards? I know my Camaro still had the aluminum DS when I sold it to the junkyard, I think Ben went and pulled it for his car. lol

I'll pulling mine out soon, it's a LT1 aluminum shaft. I had it balanced and new u-joints installed about 10K miles ago. I need a longer d/s when I put my 9" rear in. I'd let it go for $120.

False... If it's anything like my S10. I replaced the carrier bearing on it. Took a lot of heat (oxy acetylene torch) and a puller, but I eventually got it off.

Hahah not worth the time, that 2 piece is junk, heavy and a waste, better off to spend a little more and never have to deal with it. Also you will have less rotating mass =)

Yes, you could get an aluminum ds with the LT1's. Let me know if you want it.
