Hi Jess.
I'm not a 4th gen expert, but I thought that the 4th gen (1993-2002) moved to 6-speed manuals across the board. The 5-speed ended with the last 3rd gen in 1992 if I'm not mistaken???DynoDave

No problem Dave, I actually liked my 3800 powered 97, over 200HP from the factory, 3.42 rear gears, it was actually faster than my 84 305 powered 4-speed manual Trans Am, and got better MPG also. I would not hesitate to but another 3800 V6 powered F-Body with a manual trans. You can actually get the HP up to around 250-260 with rocker arm or cam changes. To bad GM never made a Supercharger for the RWD aplications of that engine. I think it would have been a very nice performance optionDynoDave likes this.

woah, cool - I assumed the M90 wouldn't clear.
I will say the 3800 is a GREAT platform. I was into them in my W-Body days. I just had an N/A L36, but with tune, high ratio rockers, and exhaust work it scooted pretty well.
I had a coworker with a L67 in his Regal that he'd DD....thing ran mid-11's. And he DD'd it for years until he got hit on the lodge during rush hour and totalled it. It was reliable, and fast as hell.
