Negative... USPS would count towards pay, but not towards military retirement, you would still have to serve 20 active... And soon, there won't be a 20 and out option anymore.. Many years ago you could do your 20 in the service, retire, go to post office, work 5 years and receive another retirement check for 25 years for postal service.. The government finally caught on and nixed this... Double dipping...Originally posted by 93formulalt1 View PostPost office is a GREAT job. Aside from the obvious downside (no job security at all), any time spent working for the USPS counts toward federal retirement. If you were to work for the post office for 5 years then join the military, you'd be eligible for retirement after 15 years in (20 years total). I think retirement from the Postal Service is after 30 years, but any time in the military counts towards that time, as does any other federal gov't job.sigpic

As high as it takes. Won't be over 120ft. There isn't trees taller than that here. Where anywhere DTE is. I'm about to go back to work in Mt Clemens. Depends on which company you work for. By the way we are unionized.Originally posted by TylerT/AZ28 View Postwhat kind of heights? where at?Originally posted by Yoshi94Mines about an inch bigger than Kyles. What degree did you finish with? Tuition this semester is like 12,500 after books so about 25k/yr, 4 yr degree = 100k. It was closer to 9k when I started. Maybe you missed the networking part, or career quest? I've got contacts and previous employers waiting for me to finish, or begging me to do night classes. I transferred in with a 2 yr from OCC, saved me ~50kOriginally posted by Darren View PostIf you cant afford LTU (without loans) I would advise you NOT to go there. They will set your life up for failure out of college, ask me how I know and a 6 figure debt acquired from LTU.
Back to your original question, what do you want to do? Full time, part time? I know for a fact the Royal Oak and Warren Post Offices are hiring both walking routes and sorting personnel.

LTU is a great college if you KNOW what you want to do and aren't looking for a huge party college experience. If you're on the fence and think a certain program there "sounds cool" then I would highly suggest you investigate it more. It is extremely expensive, I think undergrad credit hours are approaching $800/CH. Also I would talk to admissions and make sure your credit from Macomb will transfer, I know A LOT of people who ended up wasting time and spending more money by going to community colleges first. Good luck with everything and let me know if you have any questions on the school. I'll be graduating from LTU with my bachelors in Architecture this spring.2000 Trans Am l 1967 Firebird
