  • Looking for a job (IT)

As of today I am officially searching the job market, just posting this here to see if anyone knows of anything. I'm a recent university graduate with a bachelors degree looking for an opportunity to grow to my potential. Positive attitude and very motivated to succeed and learn.

    Thanks in advance!

How far are you willing to commute? I'm friends with a guy who owns a staffing agency specializing in technical jobs and always seems to be looking for good IT guys, but he is based out of Ann Arbor and most of his jobs tend to be more in Ann Arbor and the metro-Detroit area.

Well that depends on the opportunity. But I have previously been working in auburn hills which was a 45 minute drive one way. Ann Arbor is a bit of a haul, but a good part of the metro area is very doable.

Certainly, is there a job listing posted I could take a look at?

This seems like a pretty basic job and not terribly IT specific:

              https://jobs.wayne.edu/applicants/js...stingId=448808

However, working for WSU has KILLER perks....free tuition, insanely good healthcare, retirement, etc.

would you be interested in a Staffing ladies information. She got Lisa a good job as well as another members (on here) girlfriend a job as well. You just have to take "assessment" test and interview and tell her you are looking for IT work... I can forward you her email if you would like. Just send her a short email about Joel and your resume she will contact you.

It's on assetacceptance.com - go to Careers and then when the page loads, click to filter based on Michigan location. We have a handful of IT positions open, actually, but I thought Sys Admin would be what you're interested in.

That is definitely the one I would be most interested in. Are you involved with the hiring process in that department?

Lol, very true but you can say that about damn near every company.

IT related jobs are actually fairly easy to find even in Michigan. You might have to compromise some but they are around.

Not at all, but if you do apply make sure you put me as your referral so I can put in some good words for ya. I'm not going to lie - the environment isn't 100% great but the CIO firmly believes he's building a world class IT department. He stocks a fridge full of water, juice, pop, and Red Bull for us. He does send us to training so that is nice. I don't get paid nearly what I think a System Administrator position should be paying, though... and if I were to use the average salary range I find on Monster and other sites for Sys Admins, I'm making less than half.

Yeah they are. The worst part is trying to find an entry level position, though. Been trying to get Dan [mcssmostwanted] in where I'm at but we haven't had any openings in Desktop Support or such to get his feet wet. All our positions are past experience/training necessary. We've had SQL Developer positions open for almost a year and still haven't been able to get anyone to fill.
