    Are these the same as 3rd gen? Interchangeable, that is? I thought I had read that they are.

        Yes this will work in a 3rd gen... Jj far as I know doesn't matter auto or stick will also b a direct bolt in ...

            will work for 3rd gen, and for a nice price too

              it was from an auto 98 SS, but will work with 83-02 f cars, th350 long tail, t56, 700r, and 4l60e.
