  • new hood paint

I picked up a 3 inch cowl hood last night. Its a Harwood , I think that's the brand. It needs a bit of work and paint to match the car. I plan to do all the sanding and prep/repair myself and farm out the paint. I would like to do both sides the factory color, but if its too much $ Ill go with black underneath. I am dialing in the fit right now, so It'll go right on after without any fighting.. Ill post pictures later.
What can I expect to pay for painting a hood? Purple metalic mist and clear coat if it makes a difference.

Purple Pearl, WA9926 is the code. Find a really good painter, pearl is a ***** to match up!

personally I would have it blended into the fenders and nose, to get the best match, cause like Mike said its going to be a real ***** to match exactly

Yeah , I know its nnot going to be perfect. I'm ok with close. The problem with blending it is where do I stop? The pas. door is the only pannel without issues. I'm hoping to do the whole car next year, so this is just temporary.
I found a hairline crack in the new hood. I am repairing it now, glad I found it before painting it, I would have been pissed.

blend it into the fenders and front nose piece and call it a day, really only need about 6-12 inches to get a good blend

Yeah, it did, but it didn't fit that great. It didn't really follow the fenders that well and kinda stuck up in the front. Honestly, it was making my ocd go nutz.

                    Yeah... I got issues....
