I was quoted almost 3 grand for a built 400 for 600RWHP with some "room to grow" from a very reputable trans builder. Good luck finding one that will take 1000hp for $400.

Lets be honest with that goal you will have MANY thousands into your motor alone, step up and do it once right or don't do it at all.

I already voiced my opnion but if you are going to take a chance on a used/unknown history trasmission you will likely be doing things twice and paying a second time.

And my buddy bought his th400 for 400$ with a break and it handled more abuse then my car will put it through. And who said im only willing to pay 400$? You're willing to spend $700 but throw out a first offer of $400. Your estimated HP is 1000 but it'll never see that much power. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
