  • possible 1974 mopar 340 for sale!?

a guy i know is selling his '74 'cuda, but is unwilling to sell the engine separately... wouldnt be an issue, but i dont have enough money for the whole thing.

What would you guys pay for a running (he said its running, havent seen it though) 1974 mopar 340?? If i could find a buyer for it he might be willing to separate the 2

340's weren't made after 1973 so its either a 360 or the motor has been changed. IF its an original 1974 360 Cuda, its worth some money, they didn't make that many and it was the last year for the Barracuda (Cuda).
When in doubt, Whip it out !

Yup '73 was the last year for the 340. But probably like $1000.

        Really?

        $1000?

        That seems really high for a '74 340 (360)....

I wouldn't go over $400, and it would have to be pristene...nickel content really went down after '72, and they really aren't performance motors at at all...

Mopar 400s start breaking at 500 hp...same problem....

It's a mopar. Not Chevy, mopar is rare and expensive. $400 would be a price for a running 350. 340,s are hard to come by. We sold the '76 360 that someone put in my dads '70 challenger for $1,200 no problem. Btw a 340 is a excellent performance engine.

The 318 is to Chrysler what the 305 is to Chevrolet, but seeing how you don't want it anyways, I would offer 3300 for the car, then sell the 318 for $300.
I know I am a GM guy, but please don't put an olds into a mopar

My friend at work has a 73' cuda 318 and is the original owner, what is the condition of this complete car? pics? $3000 area sounds extremely cheap for a rare old mopar.

Seems about right to me. 72-74 e body's are not a very desirible car compared to the 70-71's. If would cost you more than $15,000 to put any e body back togehter and a 74 wouldn't be worth much more than 20k

70-74 are the same body style, and if you are turning it into what you want and not a pristine Barrett Jackson car. Any year E-body will do the trick, he's talking about a 455OLDS in a cuda'

same body style but a 72 is worth 1/4 of what a 71 is worth. the 72-74's dont look that great. ok a 455 olds in a cuda? this thread was never even worth talking about, just stupid......
