Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!

probably doing a part out or car sale soon here 94 z28 black
I would be very surprised if they don't total it. That rear 1/4 is a $2500 job itself, if there is no inner 1/4 damage. Then add the others onto it and you get to 4000 really quick. Sorry man
What if you were to buy the car back and then get another car out of a junk yard that was smashed in front....and somehow graft the back of the other car over onto his car?
kind of like this but more drastic...

Totaling it doesn't mean that the car will never be anything anymore. It just means from the insurance standpoint it won't be cost effective for to pay a body shop to fix it. So they give you retail value for the car.

How do buy backs work? Do you just pay the insurance company what they would get from the junk yard, roughly $300?
No, they will assess a value for the car in it's current condition, and deduct that from what they were going to pay you for it. The car won't leave your possession, and as far as I know, the title remains clear. If they take the car, it becomes a salvage title, and it gets sold at auction.
Partially correct Nick. If they issue you a check for the vehicle, it will be asigned a salvage title. You can then have it fixed and have an inspecter look at it and if it passes you can get a rebuilt title.

As far as I know, my title is 100% free and clear even though the insurance company totalled it. I do know we had to show proof that it was repaired, but I don't think they changed anything on my title to signify "rebuilt"
well i changed my mind again! lol i got an actual estimate and it aint pretty 10k :/ so i guess i am parting her out and looking for a new ride, maybe my truck finally who knows. just let me know what you want and i'll see if i got it or offers on the whole car till i get the title in a few days.
