ok here's the skinny....3 channel rear ends in the 4th gen cars are a 7.5inch rear end ring gear with ABS and NO traction control....the 4 channel rear ends have TRACTION CONTROL and ABS. i just sold mike my 3 channel 10 bolt with the 3.73's and an AAM diff cover. if you have a 3 channel, you can turn it into a 4 channel with just the 4 channel brake backing plates and axles. to make a 4 channel into a 3 channel, vice versa...i had a 3 channel, and mikes car is a 4 channel...so mike had to take his axles and backing plates off his stock 3.42 rear end and put them on my 3.73 rear end.

oh, and yes the 3rd gens have narrower axles, but if you're looking for a shortened rear end to fit some HUGE slicks out back...you probably don't want a 10 bolt...shit a stock LS1 is too much for a stock 10 bolt hence why i have a 9" now!

I hope Josh can find a shop that will swap his out soon! When he gets that straightened out I will have his 3.42's! Otherwise I would gladly take your 3.42. Do these come with the brakes?

Well since Mike didn't post it I will. Mike sold his rear to his friend and already has Matts in and everything so mine is now off the market sorry guys, it will be up for sale again when I can afford the 12 bolt though.
