      Mike,
You might run into the same problems I did when I wanted to sell my v6 and transmission. For $800, someone could buy an LT1 short block. Heck, for $200 more [$1000] I was able to buy the LT1, transmission, 4 tires, two doors, rear hatch, rear bumper, rear tailpanel, engine wiring harness, interior wiring harness, computer. I remember posting my 3.4L v6 engine for $400 on CamaroZ28.com and two posts down was a shortblock LT1 for $350.

Something to keep in mind - if someone really wants the engine, *most* people are not going to want to wait for you to pull it out. I did the same thing and I really lucked out having a guy from Craigslist that just got an Fbody without an engine right before I posted. Otherwise, people that need the engine are going to want it then and there. I had A LOT more hits on my engine and transmission after it was already pulled than when it was still in the car.

Anyway, don't get me wrong, just letting you know the same exact issues that I ran into while I was trying to sell my v6 and transmission back from October to December.

yea the 3.8s can be found everywhere, so selling one is a pain. I have quite a few parts off an engine I have been trying to sell for a year, not much luck.

Lower your price a couple hundred and you might get some bites

I don't need the whole engine I just rebuild mine. Would you consider selling the EGR valve adapter if so send me a PM. I dont't need the EGR valve just what it bolt to. Its right above the power steering pump and have built pipe the goes to the exhaust manifold. Let me know.

Do you know if it is compatible with a 99' firebird 3.8? I don't know if they made changes from 97 to 99. I may have somebody interested if they are the same.

I believe in 97 the intake had an a slight angle to it, and i also believe the throttle was controlled by a cable instead of drive by wire like on the newer models. But again i'm not positive when these changes took into effect.

Youll have to change the intake and throttle body assembly, and the wiring harness. But if you have all of those from your 99 v6 I dont know why you couldnt put them on the 97.

yes what they said the throttle body on the 97 has a slight angle on it..so switch that and wire harness and your good to go,everything else is the exact same..
