  • 3.4L v6 For Sale - Again

Alright guys, unfortunately I have to relist my 3.4L v6 for sale again.

The engine was running perfectly smooth when running. Only had about 100-105k on the clock and ran like a champ. EGR valve was removed and blocked off, water pump was replaced no earlier than the end of 2004 - it was replaced while I was living in Sterling Heights and I only lived there from October 2004 to October 2006. In other words, it's only 3-4 years old.

Engine wiring harness and v6 computer come with the engine. Transmission has already been sold. I had hoped to keep the engine in the car so people could hear it running and take it for a ride but unfortunately I had a guy that put a deposit down on it so I pulled the engine out and now it's been over a month and he started out calling me saying he'll be out and then never shows up but now the only phone number I have for him rings with no answering machine and he doesn't pick up. So, it's up for sale and available immediately. I need to get this gone! I can't get my car in the garage to work on my LT1 swap until this engine is gone!

Asking $300 firm. This is a fully running engine and if yours is blown or knocking it would be a GREAT replacement. I even have printed off about 20 pages worth of instructions on how to drop an engine out from under the car that was originally for the guy who was going to buy it - if you buy the engine, you can have it too. Removal of the v6 is very easy.

Videos of it running... although admittedly it's just exhaust and idle with a few revs:

If I had an '80s Chevette, I'd be all over this like a gangsta on "dubs." Good luck with the sale, hope it works out for you the 2nd time around.

He put a deposit down and said he would be back in a week or two with the rest of the money and to pick it up. I've talked to him AT LEAST 10-15 times to arrange him coming to pick it up but every single time he blows me off and never shows. I stopped calling him for awhile and he called me a few weekends ago to come get it and we arranged Saturday for him to come then again no show so I call him Saturday night and he says "I'll get a truck and do it tomorrow" so I call him the next day and again no show. I called him once after that and he said he'd be out in the evening to get it, I called at 7 and he said he had to call the customer he was waiting on before he makes it out and said he'd call me back in 5-10 minutes. Never heard from him again, and never heard from him since then. Honestly, I'm surprised that he's blown me off this long because he does have a deposit on it but I just can't wait any longer. If I can sell it before he wants the engine, then I'll refund his deposit and tell him sorry buddy not only did I make sufficient attempts to set up getting it to you but the past 6 calls I've made have been no answers nor any answering machine (which he used to have an answering machine on it, so it's just weird...) Just really grinds me - if he needs more time because he has to save up the money, fine just tell me. If he can't make it out in the evening that he set up, fine tell me. Just don't set everything up so I throw my evening away to make sure that I'm home and then not show up and not give me the decency to cancel. Either way, I know it's kinda crappy to be trying to sell it when someone has a deposit but I'm fully planning on refunding his deposit if I sell it before he's ready to come get it.

...Can you tell I'm frustrated about this deal?

          Cliff Notes aka Nick Style:
          • Set up about 10-15 appointments for him to come out and get it and then every time he is a no show no call
          • His phone used to have an answering machine, now it does not and after 6 calls randomly through the past week and this week I can't get him to answer and I can't leave him a message.
          • I need to get rid of it - I was planning on having it gone within 2-3 weeks, it's been over a month.

Nah if the guy comes and actually wants the engine after it sells I'll be honest and give him his money back - he's had over a month to pick it up, though, and I have to get it gone.

He should have picked it up a LONG time ago, you want to sell it, not store it for the guy. That's just disrespectful, IMO. (him not calling you to cancel appt's, blowing you off, etc.)

Oh yeah, I totally find it disrespectful. Especially with the fact that I was even offering to print 20-something pages worth of instructions on how to drop the engine.
