Depends on how far you want to go.

A 383 is a 350 ci motor with a 400 crank in it. In theory, you don't need anything else. But...there will always be something that needs to be done.

Hows the block? Does it need to be honed/bored? How many miles?

If it was me, I'd check the bores, and at least go rings/pistons/rods.

To really do it right, you should maybe port the heads as well.

If you go that far, valvetrain would be nice to have.

Ported heads and a new valvetrain, well, it's time for a cam too.

As long as we're there, a new intake would let it breathe better.

    Really not a simple answer.

Depends on the condition of the motor and what you want to do with it.

I wish my thermostat would get stuck.
