I run Mobil 1 in all my cars and see nothing wrong it. I consider them very well maintained.

Mobil 1 is ok, just being synthetic it can help cause leaks, lubricates well just not necessary on most cars. plus its just expensive. I change mine every 3k miles regardless

Hello,

I have for sale a one owner 2001 SS Camaro with SLP package with 76,000 miles on it. This car was my late friends car, he special ordered this car and waited about a year to get it. If you are up on the history of the 2001 Camaro, then you would know that GM didn't make a SS only the Z28. To get a SS you had to order the Z28 with the SLP package. SLP Engineering did the following to the Z28, which is on the window sticker that I have. Also I have the option certificate from SLP for this car. I even have the sales brochure for this car when my friend ordered it.

SS Performance/appearance pkg includes:

325 hp

Forced air induction hood

SS rear spoiler

17 alum wheels

High perf ride & handing susp.

Dual outlet exhaust

Power steering cooler

SS Badging

This car also has SLP options beyond the SS package:

SS floor mats

ZR1 alum 17" chrome wheels

SS Dual performance Exhaust (has been upgraded to center exit exhaust)

Front grille with SS Logo

This car also has the limited production Sunset Orange Metallic paint, 5.7 liter SFI V8 motor with 4-speed auto. I have the service records for all service that has been done to this SS since new.

The 76,000 miles are mostly highway miles, he would go out West in the spring to visit family, this car has never been driven it the salt. It has been driven very little the last two years.

This car runs like new and sounds good; it will sit you back in your seat. The paint is really nice condition, but there are a few spots that need a little attention to be perfect. I would say it would be a 9.5 in condition. It does have a couple of light dings in it, but the paint is not cracked so those dings could be popped out by one of those dent removal company's. But for a 12-year-old car, it would hold its own at a car show as it sits right now!!!. This car will for sure be a collector some day because of the color and SLP package.

The interior is leather and the front driver seat does show some wear. But it's not bad for this year. You could always have it re-cover and then the whole interior would look new. I mean it, the interior looks like it was never used and never, never smoked in!!!
Also this car is fully loaded and has the nice glass tee tops for summer driving.

Check out the ZR1 17" Chrome wheels, they really make the car look good, and they are like brand new also (tires look good also). Oh what about the center exit exhaust like the corvettes?? It is really cool to look at.

UPDATE ON THE ORANGE SS

I talked to the owner. he said the car belonged to his friend who has since passed away :/. said the car report will say he is the 3rd owner because his friends car collection was all left to his son and then his friends son turned everything over to him to sell. with that being said... he said the price has been reduced to $12,900. so i feel like i could get the car for 11,500 maybe.... either way 12k is a real possiblity. also can someone PM that has a good understanding of this specific model of car? i have a few questions that he couldnt answer... also i am confused about it not being a SS and all of that stuff... PM me and ill give you my cell number so we can talk.. he also said there were only 173 with this color combo which i dont care all these (camaros/trans ams) seem to be a limited run or special addition... also what price would you guys feel confortable at?

once again thanks guys! and i also told him if i do come out there i will have a fleet of F bodys coming with me so hide yo wife hide yo kids!

i emailed him back telling him that i wasnt going to.. reason being is because personally i dont think the car is worth what he is asking... i know alot of users on here would not share my opinion but i think this is a 11k car with a cool color but im not interested in paying for a color of a car... i follow a lot of these on ebay and look at what the actual bid is at the close of auctions (even when the reserve isnt met) and alot of people just are not paying alot of money for these cars. i think the car is super clean as you said. also i feel like 11k would be a good price for me to pay and not be worried that when and if i do have to sell it i wont take a 2k hit on it.. i know that everyone on this site loves F-body cars (as do i) but to me they are what they are. also with my brother letting me drive his vette this summer even with only being able to put 750 miles on it i can be more selective. also if the car is still around i may even revisit it. i like the car and think its a great car but the color of the interior isnt my favorite and dont want to get stuck in something i may regret. i hope that this doesnt come off as being disrespectful because that isnt my intention. sorry for the late update

Only real difference between the 2 cars is the other has a few Mods. WE ALL KNOW you never get your money back out of mods. I could really careless what car you buy, but If you really want to lose your buy that one for $15k.

At this point I don't think you know what you really want and for the most part your window shopping.

Like my old man says "give it the 24 hour rule". I did and found that the excitement of getting another car was clouding my judgement. Also I know the above car is 15k but why not sniff it out and see what's what as well as educating myself on not only f-body's and mods... The SS has 76k miles on it... I've seen ws6s that have 29k that I know I could have gotten for 13k-13,500k. The sentimental value of this car to your friend and you is valued on this end. I just don't think that the car is worth 12k. If it was it still wouldn't be for sale. Then again maybe he isn't marketing it very well and I'm just wrong on what the cars worth is.. Also as far as window shoppin I for sure am to some extent because the fact is I can sit and wait for the best deal to come along because 1. I have a summer car to drive currently as well as a boat 2. I don't need this asset to put food on my table.

With that being said I truly appreciate your input about the car and you taking your time to call me as well as search for a car for me. Cheers
