You are a very lucky kid to have a first car like the one you have. Many kids would die to have a low milage f-body as their first car. There is nothing wrong with a v6 automatic f-body at all. I wouldn't recommend a f-body with a v8 till a person is at least 20 for many reasons. My first car was a 2002 Firebird 3.8 and I love that car so much. The main reason I decided to sell it is because I am so attached to it that I stopped enjoying it. I pretty much would drive as minimal as possible to keep the miles low and to keep it clean. I couldn't stand it getting dirty at all. So I looked for my dream car, a black firehawk with 50,000+ miles. I didn't want a low milage vehicle again in which all I want to do is preserve the milage on it.Originally posted by Barr23 View Postya i thought about the move out thing but then id be selling my car for a house too lol. You may think it is ridiculous of your parents not allowing you have a v8 for a while, but one day you may end up thinking about how they were right and thank them. I know I did, but maybe that is just me.
Now for a V8, Mike's Camaro is a great car for a great price. Maybe you can talk to your parents about letting you buy the car and setting it aside for a little while and only drive it with one of your parents with you, so they can grow trust in you respecting the power of the car.

wow that is exactly how i feel about my car . I am afraid to drive it! its pretty much a brand new car! like i cant enjoy it because im afraid that it i might scratch it or for some idiot in my highschool might rear end me. i hate taking it on long drives because the miles seem to rack up soo fast! i also live one mile into a dirt road so i literally drive it 10 miles a hr the whole way. I bought this car a year ago for $8900 with it only having 7500 miles on it. i work on our family farm for $5 a hr to buy this car it took me forever to save up for it. this only makes me even more careful with it! I know a 17 year old with a v8 normally isnt a good mixture but im not like most dumb 17 year olds who rip on their cars like crazy lol. i plan on selling my car as soon as i can convince my parents to let me get a lt1 or ls1 camaro. and even if they make me put it aside for a while i always have my trusty 1995 5 speed f150
.Anyways mcalus sorry for taking over your thread.I hope to be back on this thread with an offer for your car.
