  • FS: 2002 Jetta 1.8T 240whp

In the off chance someone wants a 240whp daily that will average 28mpg easily, I'm posting my Jetta:

Selling my Jetta so I can upgrade to an M3.

    2002 Jetta 1.8T GLS
    171k miles
    manual
black/black with leather and sunroof, heated seats and mirrors
    Pioneer head unit
    K04-020 turbo
    Unitronic 2+ ECU
    Forge 007 diverter valve
    N249 delete
    Eurojet street FMIC
    APR turbo inlet pipe
    AEM Dryflow cone filter
VF poly motor+trans mounts and BFI stage 2 dogbone
    Audi TT225 exhaust manifold
    Audi TT225 MAF
42DD 3" downpipe with high flow cat
    stock catback with resonator deleted
Audi TT225 hybrid oil pan (aluminum sides, steel bottom, more clearance than stock)
Ground Control coilover conversion with Koni Yellow shocks (475lb front/ 350lb rear, adjustable height and rebound)
    driver side Raxle
42DD A pillar gauge pod with boost and wideband AFR gauges
    VR6 clutch
inline fuel pump with stock injectors and 4 bar FPR
There is more I'm just not remembering it all

transmission has 70k miles on it
timing belt and water pump done at 157k miles
brake rotors and pads also done at 157k
coilovers, inner and outer tie rods, ball joints, front control arm bushings, radiator, drivers axle done at 158k
crankshaft position sensor done at 163k or so

It does need a new hood and could really use a fresh front bumper cover. The exterior has it's blemishes but nothing crazy other than whats mentioned. It now has BBS RC wheels on it that could be recovered. One has bad curb rash but aluminum filler could take care of that. All boost hoses are silicone with T-bolt clamps. The car runs great, it should since the only thing that hasn't been replaced is the motor.

Again I'll be very sad to see this thing go but it's the right thing for me. Hopefully someone here wants it and will finish what I started. Asking $6000

It's been raining out in our neck of the woods every day since last Friday, he has an excuse. Lol

I want this car. I miss my old Audi A4 1.8t, and for a "tuner", they are excellent DD's.

Honestly I've haven't washed that car since I bought it. Up until last month it always sat under telephone poles and got covered in bird shit the second I cleaned it off. Besides, it needs a whole front end rebuild and new tires so it's only been driven ~600 miles this year.

          Replacing with an M3? That's awesome . . . what year?

GLWS on the Jetta, looks like a fun ride. I had an '86 Jetta in college, just a little 4-banger but it was fun to drive and handled really well . . . Germans make excellent cars.

It's 2002 with 75k miles on it, bone stock. It will be my fourth black car, I've never owned a different color. I looked at a beautiful modded one but I kinda wanted to experience this thing stock for a while before tearing into it.

FWIW your probably not going to get to many bites on your car here for a couple of reasons. #1 its a volkswagon, #2 your asking twice the blue book value.

I am aware of both of those facts. I am also aware that the car is genuinely worth this price range. Do you know of something else that will outrun most Mustangs, average 28 mpg, and toast your ass at the same time for this price? Go try and find one of these with similar mods and maintenance history and tell me my price is too high.

$5,500, which is about double KBB value and the car needs an entire front end rebuild, new tires, a new hood, a fresh bumper cover and wheels that "could" be recovered. Good luck on that sale.

For what it's worth you would have better odds trying to sell the car on a Jetta website than here. Being that this is an FBody centric site, I think a vast majority of the users on here are going to look at KBB value as the comparison. When they see your price, most of us are just going to think it's over priced because we don't understand how much your mods made any difference to the value.
