  • Lead: 2001 WS6 M6 Vert - 11,500 Miles!

Saw this on the used lot at Rinke Chevrolet on Van Dyke in Centerline -- probably carrying a premium price, but it's a pretty pristine 2001 Trans Am vert with the M6 and the WS6 package, and has only 11,500 miles on it. The previous owner of this one-owner car added a Corsa exhaust to it. Probably more of a collector car than a car to buy and heavily mod, since it's listed at <gulp> $21,500

I think the sales guy I talked to said they traded it in on a Tahoe, so they only got trade-in value, which is probably obscenely less than $21,500

          Fer sure...

But I guess we'd probably try to do the same thing if we were in his line of work.

The other thing is thaat he might just be trolling for last minute impulse buyers who want a car for the Dream Cruise. But if it doesn't sell before then, look for the price to drop -- convertible weather gets dicier and rarer pretty soon after Labor Day!

Thats a really good thought about the cruise Kev...I know dealers dont like having a car "sit" on the lot for more then 30 to 60 days, and at the end of the year I think they pay tax on anything they own, not sure if this is still the case or not

But.... if you think about how much car you can get for $21k now adays, if you bought it for a summer DD its really not that expensive. If the price comes down to $16k or so by september..... Hmmmmmm. I know of someone who got a 2000 SS vert with 40k miles that was traded in for $4000 and he got it for $5000 (he worked at the dealership). It was in fantastic condition too. The people trding these in just don't know wht they're worth and the dealers know that and tell them they're giving them "book" value.

yea very true, cant even get a new loaded cruze for 21k, but they are limiting their buyers, no bank would fiance it, unless you get yourself a sig loan.
