    I'm on my second auto LS1 F-body.

The 1st one had bolt ons, stock converter, stock 3.23 gears and wouldnt get out of its own way. 13.5@105

The 2nd one had pretty much the exact same power mods as the 1st one(MAYBE 20hp more) except a big converter and 3.73's. It would spin from 40 if I really wanted it to. 12.1@113

Its all about how the car is set up. A stock converter'd car is going to be a complete roach. Period.

I would just trow a converter in it. My 95 ls1 car is pretty much stock with a 4k converter. And you wouldn't think it just has a converter, and it is fun. But if you want a t56 I got a full lt1 t56 set up for sale.

Manuals are fun but autos can be too. I was honestly surprised when I drove my mom's 2012 Camaro on Saturday. Being that hers is an auto and mine is a manual. Her car would definitely beat mine if we were to race - her car takes off like a rocket while I'm trying to shift.

Have you ever driven a car with a big stalled auto? Specifically one with more than 300RWHP?

I have driven Liz's a couple times up and down woodward, so yes.

Stalled Auto>M6...mod for mod you will put down bigger numbers with a manual and run a better ET with a auto. I know an LT1 car (granted on street tires) that put down 37Xhp and got gapped by a bolt on LS car that MIGHT have made 330 on the dyno.

and? Not everyone is out to go fast or down the strip, driving up and down woodward IMO a manual car is much more fun to drive and to cruise in. Putting it in D and hitting the gas is boring IMO

Also true. OP-what are your goals? What are you building this car for?

Exactly how I feel. My car will probably never be down the track. But the thrill of throwing into gears and chirping third while a mustang is still at the light is needed for cars like these. And people like me and Darren

Meanwhile, the Mustang just hits the gas and beats you.

I understand both arguments. Someone please explain why a Z06 and a ZR1 are only available in 6 speeds? I will say, if I ever buy another 4th gen it will be an auto.

Since you guys are all recommending stalls for him, and I'm kind of in the same boat as the OP...what stall converter would you recommend for a bolt on car with let's say 3.73 gears??

Because they are designed for a road course not a dragstrip

                                3200-3600.

I had a 4000 in my bolt on car and it could have used to be a touch looser if anything. I have an LS1 car tho.
