Hey guys.
It is with a heavy heart that I post this, but my Mom has decided to sell my Father's car, which was a Father-Son project vehicle for about 17 years prior to his death in 2010. I have tried everything I can think of to convince her to keep it in the family, even offering to pay her more than it is worth to buy it from her. She has decided that the best course of action is to "rip the band-aid off" and sell it to someone outside of the family.
I don't want updates from the buyer. I don't want pictures, emails, or phone calls about the car, letting me know how it is doing. I want the car to go to a buyer who will care for the car the way my Father and I did for many, many years. This car was my Dad's Legacy. He spent the majority of his adult life breathing new life into the car, and as such, no expense was spared. I have EVERY part needed to fully reassemble this car. I will do my best to accurately describe the work that has been painstakingly done on the car below.
Details:
1970 Monte Carlo
468c.i.d. BBC
Offenhauser closed-chamber heads
Crane Cam (I have the cam spec card in the folder with all receipts)
12.5:1 CR
Hooker Headers (I believe they are either mid-length or long-tubes) w/ true duals (Flowmaster 40s, if I remember correctly)
Holley 850 "Double Pumper" carb
Built TH350 Transmission, less than 100 miles on rebuild.
Engine fully rebuilt with high quality parts (I have all receipts), less than 100 miles on rebuild.
BFGoodrich Radial T/A's, fronts are brand new, 32 miles on them since purchased in January 2010. Rears are in new condition, but are more than 10 years old.
15" Corvette Rally Wheels (with beauty rings and centercaps, I think I have 2 sets of centercaps)
3 sets of bumpers (front and rear)
Harwood 4" Fiberglass Cowl Induction Hood (First one made, cost nearly $1000)
1970 Monte Carlo SS black vinyl/leather bucket seats and center console w/ Horseshoe shifter
Original AM/FM/8-track w/ one speaker
Gas tank replaced during restoration
New fenders (already cut in, just need painted, along with hood)
When Dad and I were restoring this car, every panel was stripped of all paint (to the bare metal), each panel was worked for hours to be perfectly straight, without the use of ANY body filler. The car was then professionally painted (by my Dad, who was an Auto Body and Paint Technician for most of his life) a shade of Corvette Competition Yellow w/ Black SS stripes, prior to the replacement of the stock hood and fenders. The hood and fenders have been "cut in" (undersides and inside edges have been painted, outside surfaces have not), but the exterior surface of the hood is in black gelcoat, and the surface of the fenders are still in gray primer. I have a full set of replacement vinyl for the interior (front seats incl. headrests and rear seats), including all of the "hog rings" and a set of hog ring pliers. The carpet was replaced about 5 years ago, it just needs to be cut and finished. I believe there is a small tear in the headliner, which, if you're a perfectionist like Dad was, would need replaced.
The inner fender wells need re-installed (I have both), the battery cables need installed (I removed the positive cable to replace it, just need to finish hooking it all up), and it will need a new battery. Rear tires should be replaced simply due to age, as well as the battery. There are a number of little things here/there that need installed on the car, but I have most everything you would need to get this car put back together.
The body work was done fantastically, and I believe there may be one or two VERY small chips in the paint from sitting in the garage for all these years. The retired GM mechanic who did the break-in on the engine estimated that this car would put down between 650-700hp on a dyno, and stated that that was simply a conservative estimate. We haven't taken it to the track, it hasn't been on a dyno, and I can name all 5 places it has been driven to since it was rebuilt. The engine runs great, it sounds VERY mean, the exhaust is about the loudest full exhaust I have ever heard, and the car has turned heads every time it has been on the road.
If you want more details, please feel free to PM me. I'm afraid I won't be able to do phone calls, because simply typing all of this has stirred every speck of dust in my office directly into my eyes, and I don't believe I would be coherent enough for anyone to understand any of my babbling responses to their questions through the crappy reception of my cell phone.
If you want a car that has been professionally built, maintained, and needs little work to get it back on the road for you to enjoy, this is the car for you. We don't really know what the car is worth, given the highly custom nature and the fact that it is yet to be completed, so please make a reasonable offer. Cash only, Mom is trying to sell to pay off some debt and put a down payment on a new house.
If I can think of anything else, I will post it.

Sorry for not having more pics, I'll have to get it running and pull it out of the garage for some more detailed ones. These are all I have for now. The car has been stored inside a garage for the better part of 15 years, only coming out since the engine and trans were rebuilt and for the occasional bath every once in a while.
