I know its got potential but needs lot of expensive work. I think you will be lucky to get 3-4,000 out of it. Not trying to be harsh just realistic. You might do better parting it out.
I guess a little high. I know Ryan got stupis money for his roller and LS drivetrain components are still bringing good money.
I looked at a few LS car in the 4 to 5,000 range and they were in need of alot of TLC.

i know it needs expensive work. if i put 4k into the car, it would be perfect, and could be over 700 to the tires and DD status as well. 5.3, trans rebuild, and a 9". thats probly what i will do. i know i could part the car out for more then 3k. the bodys super clean and in good shape. when i took the bumper off to do the intercooler i didnt line it up right. just needs to come off and be put on correctly. im very picky with things and i pointed out everythign thats wrong with the car. i've seen turbo setups like mine go for $3500 on ls1 tech. thanks for your opinions guys, i'm just going to keep it and keep working on it.

for 4 grand it will not make over 700 and be reliable like a DD is intended for.. dont mean to burst your bubble but you will have 4 grand alone in a decent 9 inch andf trans to handle the power.. not to mention a stock shortblock will not handle 700 to the tire for very long

all the research i've been doing for a 5.3 i thought that was a pretty reasonable goal.. i can get my trans built STRONG, was quoted 1k from a guy i know (never done business with him before..) i'll have 1k into a 5.3 and putting my heads on it, all the gaskets etc. and 2k for a rear. atleast these are my thoughts..

a stock 5.3 will not handle 700rwhp for very long.. to make sure its reliable you would want a built one.. and thats anywhere from 2500-3k for a built shortblock alone

As others have said..its not worth what you WANT it to be worth. Its gonna take someone with time and money to get it back to a good running condition. Body can be in great shape, as well as interior...with the problems it has...those things dont really matter to much. The motor has to be completly torn down, wont know how bad it really is till that happens. Trans..costly..but not hard to fix. Rear end..same thing..not hard..but costly. Your motor on its last leg is the real deal kicker. id be amazed if someone paid 3k for it. I had a similiar deal with a guy..was a single turbo car..rear end shot, motor with a similiar problem. Was round $1500. With the cost of c5 vettes, high mileage ls1's...a one with motor issues....lose's its luster.

glad your keeping the car man just enjoy it for summer then rip it apart next year... trans shouldnt be to costly to repair "my dad might consider to work on it for a price id have to ask" manual trans is much easier to work on then a auto.. keep that in mind if a shop over prices u. the guy that wants 1k for rebuild does that include parts aswell?

do u think bent valves may be a reason of low compression?
