  • 1998 camaro z28 twin turbo 552 RWHP

thinking of selling my 1998 camaro z28. m6, black leather, t top. made 552 rwhp on the dyno last fall.

i bought the car from its 2nd owner in may of 2010 in colorado with 98k miles. drove it home and have been changing it around ever since. has about 118k on it now.back of camaro.jpg
    MeetGreet2010_192.jpgMeetGreet2010_156.jpg

going to be as honest as possible about the car. if you have ANY questions, just ask, i want a perspective buyer to know every detail about the car.
    mods:

5% tinted windows all around, except windshield
drilled/slotted rotors and ceramic pads all around
    monster stage 2 clutch
truck manifold twin turbo kit with front mount intercooler
    83lb siemans injectors
    walbro 255 fuel pump
    317 heads
    ls6 valve springs
    ARP rod bolts
    ebiach pro kit lowering springs
tinted tail lights and colored berger panel/stripes/interior plastics to match
18" c5 z06 wheels with good tires all around
    2 bar map sensor
speed density tuned at Baker Engineering
    skip shift eliminator
    NO AC
    NO TRACTION CONTROL
stock 10 bolt rear end with 342's

this car is fast and very fun to drive. turns heads and gets compliments all over.

    THE BAD:

cylinder number 6 has low compression. car runs and drives normal but smokes bad. car is parked now. trans grinds 3rd and 4th gear every once in a while. synchros? needs rear shocks that hold up the hatch. power windows are slow, but they do work.

not sure what price to ask for the car. i dont want to sell it, but i need something i can drive all year around. make reasonable offers, trade offers ETC. pm me, post on here, or text/call me at 616-510-0793. if i dont answer, leave a message.

you can go on my facebook for more pictuers. Jeremy Ledermann

even if your not interested in the car, what do you think i should ask for it? i value all opinions. thanks guys.

none as of right now.. dont have a camera, and my phone cant send pictures. the radiator stands straight up, and the turbos sit between that and the engine, just to give an idea of the setup. i know, thats why i didnt put a price on it. probly worth more to me then anyone else, just thought i'd see if there was any interest in it.

Probly? Its a fact it is worth more to you than others, as you made it the way YOU wanted it so you have a stronger attachment to it.
Astetically I am not sure how most people react to it. I am not a fan of how it looks. Not trying to be negative, that is what is so great about this hobby.
I think how it looks and having no A/C are going to limit the perspective buyers.

With your honest description with the flaws I would guess about 6-7,000. (But I could be wrong)

Yur not gonna get what you want out of it. Likely a ring land on #6. Essentially it needs a new short block, maybe a head. Trans grind doesn't help. Stock rearend with that much power, not good. Its discouraging to put that much work into something and have issues. Keep it, fix it, and get it back on the road.

Good luck Jeremy, Going to be tough sell. Short block = 3,000. Rebuild trans = 1,000. Maybe rearend = 500-1200. I think Brians estimate of 6,000 to 7,000 way high. I know its got potential but needs lot of expensive work. I think you will be lucky to get 3-4,000 out of it. Not trying to be harsh just realistic. You might do better parting it out.

honestly I think you might get more out of parting the car as it needs a good deal of work as is.

                ^What he said.

Not trying to offend you but to be honest I wouldn't pay more than 3000-2500 for that car.

It's the sad truth that LS1 prices have no where to go but down. The cars are getting older, more miles, etc. I don't see it going for more than $4,000. $6000 can get you an LS1 car with similar miles, though it might be an automatic.

Have to agree with the others. I'd Part it out, as it sets I'd say its worth at the very most $3500. And only if you find the right buyer. I'd say the average person would only offer maybe $2000 in the current running condition its in. Engine & trans both need rebuilt, so your basicly just buying a roller.

Exactly what I was going to say. It's a high mileage roller at best. Part it out and move on if you don't have the conviction to fix it.

I offered a car worth 5 grand (at least) and he thought it was a slap in the face
