that has nothing to do with it. If I can't afford to pay the stinkin car off, I'm not gonna spend money modding it. It is irrelevant how long you plan to own the car. What happens when the built engine breaks? All that money invested and you have a car that you haven't paid off yet, that doesn't even run.. Or what happens when you total it? All the money you invested in modding is gone, and now you get just enough money to cover the value of the car (likely how much is still owed on the car). I know you will disagree to the end, because you and I think completely opposite in this regard, but to each their own lol. I'd much rather have my paid off TA and my beater DD, than to have a modded car, nice DD, and 15k in debt..

i 100% agree with this statement

except for in one case if your using the loan to help build credit. but even then it should be on your DD and not on the toy.

there is always going to be someone faster so it does not bother me, even stock lt1s are well above average for power than most cars you see on the road.

I agree on paying it off asap, but if you are going to sell it try to return it to as stock as possible first selling as many mods off of it as you can.

                  listen to derek.

I think the ONLY serious mod i did to my car before i paid it off was a clutch, and thats because it needed one. My headers and cam swap came after i paid off the car. If i wouldnt have focused on paying my car off before i started college (and modding) ... guess what, i wouldnt own it right now because i dont have a whole lot of income as a full time student. And even worse, modding the car hurts its value when you realize you have too much debt and need to sell it.
