  • FS: '98 Camaro V6 - 5-speed - $6,500 OBO

I'm back! But with bad news... Time to sell the Camaro and move on to new things.

    Details on the Camaro:

    1998 - 3.8L V6 - Tremec T5 manual transmission
    - 103k flawless miles
    - charcoal cloth interior
    - crank windows
    - manual locks
    - Mobil 1 10w-30 every 3,000 miles religiously since I bought it, always done myself.

    Mods:
    - "Whisper" smooth intake lid and air baffle delete
    - Custom bent exhaust with magnaflow knock-off muffler
    - Hurst Billet Plus short throw shifter
    - Z28 Auburn clutch-type posi rear end w/ stock ratio 3.23 gears
    - LS1 aluminum driveshaft (11lbs vs factory 35lbs)
    - New Exedy OEM replacement clutch (500 miles)
    - Energy Polyurethane Transmission Mount
    - Mobil 1 transmission fluid (fresh with clutch)
    - 32mm/19mm sway bars with polyurethane bushings/endlinks
    - 10" Kicker CVR in stealth enclosure
    - Kicker ZX300.1 mono amp
    - 4x Infinity Reference 6.5"
    - Pioneer Head unit (can't remember model #)
    - Flat black "Berger" panel
    - Niteshades blacked out turn signals and rear corners
    - Time Attack style C5 Z06 wheels 17x9.5"
    - 275/40R17 Riken Raptors (all 4 corners)
    - Blacked out OEM headlights
    - "LT1" red tails retrofit (no more ugly tri-colors)
    - Removed lower "shopping cart" door trim molding
    - Flat black Grand Sport Corvette style Fender stripes
    - Brake calipers shaved and painted
RED with Duplicolor Ceramic with "CAMARO" stickers under clear on front calipers

    The Bad:
    - Couple dents on drivers side rear quarter, been there since I bought the car, haven't had a chance to get them fixed
    - Paint defect on far rear passenger quarter
    - Paint cracking off both corners of rear bumper, huge patch of touch-up paint masking it on the drivers side, passenger side is new.
    - Spiderwebbing on bottom of front facia and stone chips... everywhere
    - A/C delete... if you consider that to be a bad thing. It didn't work anyway, so I decided to save the 35 pounds and yank it. I still have all the parts, just a couple cut lines...

I've had the car a little over a year, really sad to see it go, but with my most recent project I have little time to give it the attention it deserves.

Mileage is closing in on 93,000 will probably get an oil change this weekend.

    Maintenance in the last month!!!
    - New coil for cylinders 1/3 (died, car started misfiring)
    - Bosch Wires and Autolite plugs
    - New Duralast battery
    - New Alternator (lifetime warranty)
    - New Exedy OEM replacement clutch
    - New Mobil1 trans fluid.

Asking $3,995, at that price the car will be sold on winter wheels, steelies with Yokohama Iceguard snow tires, and without the sub, amp, and wiring. The Z06 wheels can be included with the sale for another $550, which is what I payed for the tires alone just last summer.

    Thanks for looking!
    - Tim

It's actually not a Y87, but it has almost all of the Y87 parts at this point. Posi swap, 32/19mm sway bars, duals, aluminum ds, a whole bunch of goodies. I really hate to see it go, I just don't have the time, money and energy to appreciate it as much anymore.

if you wouldve had it for sale earlier this summer i woulda bought it in a heartbeat good luck! 3.8/5-speeds offer an attractive gas mileage capability which is exactly why i bought mine. Also your hardtop is an insurance saver!

I appreciate that! I really don't want to sell it, so I'm holding out until I get near what I want for it. That and the thought of daily driving my other car absolutely terrifies me.

Will consider trades for Jeeps (Cherokee/Grand Cherokee), 4x4 trucks, nicer DDs (for my dad) + cash.

Well, Saturday night it looks like it got backed into parked in front of my friend's house. Drivers side fender and door are damaged. Just bad enough to push the fender in so that I have to pull the fender out with my knife to get the door to open from the outside. I got a police report, so we're having the repairs covered by insurance. I'm doing my best to get it to Autometric for the repairs. After two botched repairs on my last car at Rochester Hills Collision, there's no way in hell the Camaro is going anywhere near there.

You could also try Troy Collision at Rankin and Rochester. They repaired my car both times. My cousin owns the place.
