Good luck bro. If it does not sell maybe we should see how that brush guard would look on an explorer. LOL!

Ben, you and I are gonna go junkyard exploring next week. . . We need to get you a solid front axle for your Exploder so you can actually lift that sucker and MAYBE keep up with me off road! lol
The person who said he'd be coming to pick the truck up today still hasn't called or emailed me, but the day is still young. . .Nick H.

I'm waiting for you to get over here and keep me busy so I don't go back to bed. . .Originally posted by phoenix_rising View PostThat sounds like a plan bro.
BTW.... WTF?????!!! You are out of bed by noon! How did that happen?
I just got off the phone with a different interested party, he's driving down from Howell. I think he might be leaving with it.Nick H.

Well, the guy from Howell is riding his motorcycle down, and he told me he's going to be bringing some tie downs to put the bike in the back of the truck, so that's a good sign. He should be here in an hour or so.
I've been honest with him about everything, we talked for a while on the phone about the truck and what it needs, and he's still coming down here, so hopefully I'll be $1,000 richer in an hour. . . Cross your fingers!!!Nick H.

Guys, I need this gone. It's worth more than this, I need the money, and I'm tired of people jerking me around and wasting my time. If you have something you'd be willing to throw in on a trade, shoot me an offer.
I've been completely honest with everyone about what's wrong with it, why can I not sell this? Any suggestions?Nick H.

It needs an O2 sensor and that will need to be wired in, the prev. owner cut the wires. It needs the rear axle u-bolts replaced, it will need tires at some point because the ones that are on it suck. It is going to need a stereo and speakers, because for $1,000, I'm going to take off all of the extra stuff I can sell to make a little more off of it and try to break even at least. . .
Other than that, I've been told that the rough running condition could be caused by moisture effecting the engine electrical system, but I think it's just the O2 sensor. There is no carpet in the interior, the power door locks don't work, and the passenger door panel needs replaced. The body is kid of rough, i.e. scratches, dents, and dings, but the only bad rust is at the cab corners. Any other rust is just surface rust. The floors are solid, the cab and bed sheet metal is all solid, the frame is solid. It's a tough truck.
I would recommend replacing the front suspension bushings and getting an alignment, it does make some noises and it pulls lightly to the right on the road, but it doesn't have any major issues, and it drives fine at highway speeds too. The guages are acting funny, they seem to be "twitching", for lack of a better word, but I think that's from the loose battery cable that I fixed today. . .
If you need more info or would like to come see it, PM me and we can work something out.Nick H.

He met with his Dad in Saline, they drove his Dad's truck out, looked at it, revved the piss out of it, test drove it, basically went over it with a fine-toothed comb for about an hour, then decided that he thought the trans was bad, even though the problem is obviously those damned u-bolts on the rear axle that are making it shift hard, and that he couldn't chance it. They ran out about 1/4 tank of gas between driving it and letting it idle/revving it in the driveway.Originally posted by meissen View PostWhat happened to the guy on his bike riding out there?
I'm optimistic though, I think if I change the u-bolts, whoever comes to test drive it will give me the $1,500 I've been asking in the local listings. . . I'm changing those u-bolts on Thursday, just so people will stop thinking the trans is going. . .
Seriously, I'm not asking anything ridiculous here, why does everyone expect a fricking show-stopping truck?Nick H.

Hey, at this rate, I might still have it in January. See what you can do, if you're interested, I'll make it worth your while.
Oh, and if anyone else is interested, I'm replacing the u-bolts on Thursday after I tune-up the Jeep, so that will be one less thing to worry about, but the price is going up to $1,100 to cover parts and my labor, since it's going to take a few hours at least. I'm just tired of people thinking the trans is going bad because of how hard the shifts feel from the play in the rear end. If it's not gone by Saturday, I'm going to list it on ebay with a $1,000 reserve, and it's going to sell to the highest bidder.
Thanks to all those interested, and who have contacted others to spread the word. I really appreciate it.Nick H.

That would be pretty sweet, but I don't have anything to put it in. . . and I need the money more than I need the start of another project right now. lolOriginally posted by phoenix_rising View PostMaybe Adam will trade you for the BBP 455 he heNick H.
