The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. So what makes the 95 better then the 96? The fact that you own one?
95 is considered the best for the following reasons:
-used the highest compression cylinder head casting of the run, also the meatiest heads for porting
-1st year of vented opti
-last year of OBD1 computer which worked better on LT1s (OBD1 is NOT superior to OBD2)
-no troublesome crank position sensor
-most came with hardened pushrods
-last year single cat/no cat monitors: easier to put headers on, or have an emission legal setup.
and last but not least theres a running joke on the tech boards that "If an LT1 beats other LT1s, its probably a 95"
and no its not because i own one. i was clueless to all this when i bought mine shouldve known i would have to defend that statement doug however, may have a rare exception with his ported exhaust manifolds, if he does in fact have them
Other than the whole OBD 1.5 thing
OBD1.5 is really a non-issue. you have to buy the correct cable for it... thats all

I was just speaking to the fact that it is hard to get codes scanned without either going to a dealership or owning your own scanner. Luckily working at Eaton, I have connections
