When I got the call from Brian about Doug I went into shock I could not believe what I was hearing I, The last time I saw Doug was at The F-body’s at the Barn. He seemed just fine and was excited about the Synergy green camaro he brought with him from Berger. Doug was a kind hearted and one of the sweet man and a wealth of knowledge of about anything Camaro. I will never forget the last hug I got from Doug at the meet and greet. He will truly be missed by everyone on this site and WMCC. I think we were all lucky that we got to meet a great guy like Doug. I know Doug is up there in heaven watching over all of us F-body fans.
    R.I.P Doug we love u! L

RIP Doug... Wow, so sad.. Prayers to the family and friends.. I only met Doug a few times(but we chatted a lot in the forums), but he left an impression on me.. Starting that 5th Gen at the Fbody at the barns meet will always be a fond memory, for me, of him.. What a loss...

Will there be a memorial fund for donations to a cause in lieu of flowers? I would prefer to donate to something Doug believed in, in lieu of flowers..

We got the call this morning and we are still in shock.
Doug was one of those guys that made you feel like you knew him forever. We always joked around about being the "Old FARTS" on this site when we all started to post on here.
            Our prayers to his family...

I know you haven't seen it yet since you haven't posted, but just to specifically post it here - the link James just posted has the Ronald McDonald house for contributions.

Angie -- I couldn't have said it any better.

B -- I haven't gotten any email from you yet, but I'm definitely in for the flowers. Also, my first reaction was actually on the same wavelength as yours. I posted up that photo I took of Doug at the F-Bodies at the Barns event not just to share a happy memory with folks, but also in a hope that someone would post back and say "No, no Kevin! Take that pic down! You've got the wrong guy!" Sadly, that post never came.

Larry -- I'm guessing that the family will most likely have some information for us on services and memorials tomorrow, but I know Doug was a big University of Michigan fan -- mostly because their medical center saved his life several years back. A donation of some sort to U-M would always be a proper and fitting memorial.

Maybe it's too early to talk about what we could do to make sure that Doug's contribution to our Camaro culture is properly memorialized, but maybe we could create a trophy named for him and present it each year at the spring Meet & Greet to the most original or most factory authentic restoration of a 1st through 4th Gen Camaro, or to the best Berger edition Camaro.

pay to enter the contest to win too, all proceeds going to charity. i know one thing, and thats if it has black rims or a matte paint job its not winning.

I agree with what Kevin suggested. RIP Doug, I never had the chance to meet him but I remember him announcing the berger show at the Meet and Greet last spring.
