OK, I reverted it back to requiring people to click "Reply" to get the quick reply to open. Does that make it any better or still the same?

I also changed the e-mail settings a bit, let's see if that fixes the notifications.

Does it by chance say what script is locking up? What browser are you using?

As far as I know, this is a common issue that has plagued iOS for awhile. Not specific to this site.

Desktop PC - Windows 8 IE 11 with i5, four cores overclocked to 4.35ghz and I'm still getting a 30% spike, wifi seems to spike at the same time. Chrome doesn't get the CPU spikes, but it does trigger the wifi every few seconds.

I agree with the updating is a real pain in the dick brian! lol

As far as the iPad thing, just do what I do (although annoying but it works) before you type close the keyboard then click in the white space again and your keyboard will not disappear on you. Only happens to me on this site as well.

I had to update because someone was actually hacking the server multiple times a day - our antivirus software was stopping the attack, but there was a hole that they were exploiting allowing them to upload backdoor viruses to the server. Thankfully Microsoft Security Essentials recognized the viruses and removed them before they could do anything, but I was getting daily e-mails. Since updating I haven't gotten one e-mail. A real pain none the less.

Yup, that flat lined the CPU on both machines in IE 11

So something with IE 11 doesn't like AJAX. I could see a small spike with Chrome, but it wasn't as dramatic.
