The June of '13 we picked up Elektra...a 2013 Hot Wheels Edition...which is our pride and joy...wished we had the smarts to pick up one sooner but everything happens for a reason on its own time...nevertheless, we are now the proud curators of this smile generating machine.
Like everyone else, the thirst to mod the car, to make her our own statement, was easily caught...and we thought for all of maybe 15 minutes after bringing her home we'd leave her alone, but she was too quiet, kinda lacked the go with the show, so we sought balance. Along the way the mod list has grown, albeit subtly, to add some of our own touches to the Hot Wheels theme, without taking away from what the car is or in our opinion, adding too much.
The go element was aided by Livernois Motorsports - big shout out to those guys, true professionals and Andy is awesome to talk to and deal with. Actually guided us rationally by understanding our goals. She entered the gates of Livernois a humble 330RWHP and left skipping a few heart beats at 442RWHP with 70ftlbs more torque. We went to the limit of not needing a stall converter, and she's done. No more. The cam is priceless.
The show stuff we've done is simple...I talked to Melissa at Oracle and she hooked us up with ghosted LED side markers in Kinetic Blue...I think we were the first to go, Oracle was hesitant and it took a few extra weeks as my guess was we were the Kinetic Blue test example. Came out PERFECT.
The other part is we've been befriended by Todd at Rodgers Chevrolet. Todd is a true artist with the airbrush and he airbrushed the hot wheels logo on the engine cover and tower to tower brace. His attention to detail is simply amazing.

The latest add - yet to make it on the car, is a member of 5th Gen CNC'd custom strut tower caps with the hot wheels logo and another member painted them up in both gloss and flat black, like the hood stripes. We've only seen pictures but they are kick a$$ and cannot wait to get them.
This is the story. Its worked out sooooo well, and Dawn says I stole Elektra from her, we are picking up a '14 SS in the Spring and Todd is already salivating at the cars theme we are (she is) going for. Its in the Marvel line of comics, its Todd's favorite, and he's already started practicing. She is struggling with color...black or white, but the theme she is targeting is STRONGLY suggesting a black SS to start from which the ghosting will begin. Gotta love a wife who loves cars as much as I do. Life is grand.
