Although the faux material isn't really my style, props for doing it. What do you plan to re-wrap it in? Black leather/vinyl or maybe red?

I had it laying around after doing something similar for a friend's Jetta. I'm going to be redoing it in black vinyl or leather that has been diamond stitched, hopefully with red stitching to match my shifter boot. The carpet will be new black carpet, all interior plastics will be dyed satin black, and I'm planning on incorporating the diamond stitched material elsewhere but not in a lot of places. The seats will either be tan leather or a combo of black & tan, or black outer with the diamond pattern inserts and no tan. The headliner might be black suede or regular black headliner material. Basically I want it to look a little more upscale than how it came from the factory without it becoming ricey lol. My biggest hurdle is going to be dying the dash satin black, I've got no clue how to take that out of the car...

Yeah that should be fun trying to take the dash out. My '94 dash was a pain in the butt - but the 97+ dash is so much easier to remove.

mbcargirl - it sounds like you have a good plan to tie it together! I look forward to seeing how it plays out. It's refreshing to see people take a unique approach to things.

I got a killer deal on them & the center panel, all for $150 from a guy who had wrecked his Trans Am. Maybe listing a wanted ad on craigslist might help?

Welcome to the site, and like so many other people have said, join the Firebird club! We have T-shirts, bumper stickers, and lots of crazy old car guys!

And if you decide to do anything lighting wise in the interior, look me up. I have the mega LED hookup. Heh heh heh.
