hi welcome to site, There was a recent posting that Jentry did, he has a 95 - 97 Chandler Motor sports opti for sale, he bought the wrong one.. Several of us have them on the site including myself. Any water pumps ok, auto zone or O'reillys. might as well change to 160* thermostate while your at it.

Here's the opti - $90. Definitely worth it. Like my dad, Plum Nuts, said - we bought our pumps from Oreilly and Autozone both and they both have worked fine.

i replied to jentry's post and gave him my number to check it out today, thanks guys. and i dont have a pic of it yet but the guy that owned it before me put an lt4 vette ported intake on. ill get pics up later today. and im going to a couple parts stores to check out prices for waterpumps. oh and one more thing, when installing the opti does it have to be in the same position as the old one came out? ive done an hei distributor on my moms 71 chevelle sb 350 and was told to line it up. do you gotta try doing the same basic thing or do you just slide it in?

                    Hey Jake,

When you get the optispark, you'll see there's three slots - one of them is square, the other two are not. When you go to put the optispark in, you have to make 100% certain that the cam's dowel pin goes into the square slot.

so i found a guy on craigslist selling an unused opti for 170. he also bought the wrong one and didnt keep the receipt. jentry never responded. so we were talking about what i was doing and what was wrong and he went inside and grabbed a water pump that i took for 50, also unused. we got home and me n my dad put the opti on, no problem, hooked in the first try. next was the crank pulley, which when we got it all tightened down was touching the opti. we took it all off, put it all back in and same thing. now what i think the tolerance problem is, is we dont have the inverted torx bit socket, and neither did any of the stores near us. we got these bolts in most of the way with just a pair of needle noses but its not 100% flush. its only a fraction of an inch off but i dont believe it should rub on the pulley THAT CLOSE. help please
