The valve lash changed cuz in order to change the lower plenum you have to remove the push rods.

ahh, those 3.4's have the pushrod going through the gaskets. Forgot about that.

      Still, you have a leak.

I would start with the injector O-ring and go from there.

ok so the update on my car i started it with some things unplugged by accident and it ran a little rough but it killed the high idle...... however it did have some throttle response it just needed to be feathered to keep running. the two things i forgot to plug in are in the attached pictureIMG_20120513_124751.jpg

the metal tube and the black sensor thing on the back of the manifold were both unplugged......can someone tell me what that black thing is?

Looks to be a map sensor assuming its on the intake but I know nothing about v6s.

the metal pipe is connected to the metal thing between the pipe and the black thing.........and the metal thing is on the exhaust manifold picture is on the passenger side if it wasn't obvious

That would be your MAP sensor in the back. One of the most important sensors in the whole engine bay.

The metal tube coming off your exhaust manifold is for your EGR system. If that wasn't connected to your intake and was left open - huge vacuum leak.

Can you edit the photo in paint and circle what you're talking about? There's a lot of metal things and black things in the pic

would that cause the car to run all messed up if not tightened down all the way?
or if there is a loose connection?

The metal pipe is part of the EGR system - if that's loose, yes that will cause it to run weird. The black sensor is your MAP sensor and it too screws down into your intake and if it's not screwed down entirely it too will cause the car to run weird. Both would cause vacuum leaks. In really simplistic view, your engine should be air tight. The only time it should have air flowing into it is through the throttle body. If any air is coming in from anywhere other than the throttle body, it'll cause your car to run with a higher idle.

The MAP sensor is a very important part of how your engine runs. It reads pressure and the sensor's readings are what determines how much fuel and spark your engine uses for combustion.
