1991 RS father and son project

Hi!
I have a 1991 RS with a 305 TBI & 700R4 Trans. It was purchased during a Michigan snowstorm and trailered back home because it was a non-running car. We took several weeks to get it running and then dove into the metal work. And there was a lot of it! Bit the interior was decent and with a little TLC was made to look quite nice. It was a fun father and son project.

It's not perfect, but it's a daily driver, and at some point, I hope to buy a car with a rust-free body and swap all my parts over. Not bad for a first car.

Well, I sold the 91 Teal RS and bought a 89 Red w/ Gray Formula Firebird with T-tops. It had a bad engine, but the body was nearly rust free as it was a Texas car up until about a year ago. The PO burned a valve a couple weeks after buying it and barely put any miles on it in Michigan.

I got a 91 Z-28 5.7 TPI motor to swap into it and my Dad & I spent all Father's Day weekend (thanks, Dad!) swapping them. Now, I'm troubleshooting the electrical & (hopefully) this weekend, with the help of a mechanic-friend, will get the motor running.

Then, the body needs a good rubbing out for this summer, with *hopefully* a paint job next spring.

I finally got pics posted of the 89 bird. Sadly, the kid that bought my old RS totalled it late last year.

My bird - originally a Texas car, I bought it in Michigan from a guy who picked it up to see if he could fix it and resell it. I ended up buying it as is, with a bad motor (and later discovered the trans was bad, too). Still got a deal on it and happy with it! It's a work-in-progress, but still fun to drive.
