Just signed up and wanting to say hello. I have a 77 Trans Am and have been a avid car person since I was 14 or so. That was 30 years ago.... I also have a 1971 LeMans sport convertible I'm currently restoring and I should be following that up with my T/A, and a 1969 GTO. I originally bought my T/A to build into a very fast (sub 9 second) street car and decided to restore it rather than lighting $ on fire. This will be a good thing since the car has 60K on it originally and i did gut it and sell the parts I didn't need and started fabricating, then came to my sences, sold most of the speed parts(anyone need a Art Morrison 10 point .134" wall cage?) and had to re purchase the parts I sold...Duh...LOL. Interestingly enough, someone had the car painted with DuPont Chrome-illusion at some time, and it's actually pretty nice. I do all my own sheetmetal work, from quarter panels to small floor pan patches and everything in between and my own blocking, paint, suspension, interior and well, Let's just say I'm not much for farming anything out... I was able to pick up some fun, retro, aftermarket stuff that was big on these cars in the 80's... A Hooker chrome roll/show bar, a Cragar rear window louver and am currently keeping an eye out for a Hurst Dual gate shifter....In do time... For the mean time, I have one to get done first, then the T/A then the '69 which currently has a very fun motor in it and is a high 10 second street car that will be frame off restored back to stock. How 'bout some pics? We all love them....Mike
