Hello justed joined the site. Got a 38k mile ss convertible 6 gear Camaro. Have always had old muscle cars with 4 gears. Kinda tired of the 8 dollar a gallon gas and 8 miles to the gallon. Currently also own and race a 69 4 speed 440 sixpack super bee. Looking forward to meeting some members this summer. I live at 12 mile and woodward right on the strip. Heres a little vid of a quick beat pass in the camaro last summer. Car is bone stock. thanks

Ya it's a great spot for car people. Really looking forward to making the car run. Going with the mild mods. K@N cold air kit, ls6 intake and throttle body. And have my friends kid put a tune on it. Im hoping to run high 12's on a perfect pass and still get 22mpg on pump gas.. Ive got my 4 gear Super Bee to run 12.67 iat 110mph in the pure stock class on 5 inch bias ply tires. So if this car will run on the bumper that would be awesome, plus my wife can drive this one to work if she want's. I just have to teach her how to drive a stick car.

Welcome to the site Jim! Compared to the old school muscle cars, having a new LS1 v8 must be a dream - tons of power and great on gas mileage!

Ya it really is amazing the technology of these cars today. I sell new Fords for a living and the new muscle cars are just out of this world. For years they were turds but in the last 12 years they have really come alive. Hell I had a 2 owner 1979 60k original black on red T/A 6.6 liter 2 years ago. The car was amazing condition but so massively slow. Funny thing is everyone would say "lite um up" at the woodward crusie problem was the car would barely squeal the tires unless you were in water. I didnt care but it was pretty funny.

With the right mods you should have any problems getting that car deep into the 12's without taking a valve cover off. Welcome to the site.

Hey Don whats up. Ya I got rid of the 1994 when some guy at the dealer traded this SS on a new F150. The used car manager
had no idea what the car was, and either did the guy who traded it, he had inherited it.. To say the least I got a really good deal on it. Kinda like the deal you got on the old Gtx back in the day. I actually sold the 94 for more than I paid for this one with at the time it had 35k on the clock. Its got leather guts and the top is like new. The car is really nice with no issues.

Ya shifting one of these cars compared to my 69 Dodge s like putting a hot knife through butter. I was able to run a 13.99 at 100mph in my bone stock 1994 6 gear lt1 camaro with 97k on the clock, it did have a cold air kit that I put on it. But I was very impresed with those numbers. Ive had alot of old muscle cars that woudl never put those numbers up in stock form. Looking forward to dailing in the ls1 this summer.
