Looks pretty good, doesn't look obnoxiously big or anything like that, it actually looks like it fits for that spot.

I was a little worried about fitting it in. I had to cut some of the duct work, but I will remold some plastic and glue or plastic weld them in. I think I cracked some of the epoxy on the right side...crap

Nope. I need to sand, check the epoxy and reapply if necessary and sand again, texture, and paint.

I couldn't sleep earlier, still can't , but I remembered the Eclipse's can be setup with an unlock CD (any music CD of the owners choosing) for security. My heart sank, the guy I bought it from said nothing about an unlock disc.

Hooked up the deck to the 12v on my computer...HALLELUJAH!!! Not locked, just needed the NAV disk which did come with. I no longer need to shit a brick

Nice, eclipse has come a long way in their audio game, I had a set of their subs in my last blazer and absolutely loved them. I was just looking at car audio and head units and it got me thinking how much I kind of want another system. I had a pretty killer setup in my last camaro.

Eclipse has always been great for sound quality, which is the goal here. Don't get me wrong - it will get louder than I could ever want it, but I hate it when a car pulls up next to me and drowns out my music with bass. 2.4" of subwoofer travel should be plenty

The only thing left is some rear speakers. Not sure if I should go 6.5, 5x7, 6x8/9. I have to factor in the convertible top hardware folding in on the sides.

yeah I hear ya there for sure. I loved mine was perfect for in the car but could be cranked up to piss someone off next to me if I wanted. Did you do anything about your dash speakers? or just using the 4x6 size? I was thinking about modifying mine to fit a bigger speaker.

Eclipse (Fujitsu Ten) has been a high end audio manufacturer for 15 years, at least. They do a ton of OEM head units as well.

Oh, the Eclipse is a SW8102.4 single 4 ohm voice coil. 500 RMS max, I will only be putting 400 RMS to it while in a fairly small box, should be nice and crisp...or as crisp as bass can get haha

Started working on one of the rims that was up front.

How they both looked when I started.

Took it to the tub and did a hot water bath, powder cleaner, and scotchbright pad. Nothing else would pull up the brake dust out of the slight pitting. Oh well, one step back to go two forward. All four will get this treatment and then a 1000/1500 sand and polish.

                                Side by side.
