  • New from A2

Hey guys, I'm Mohammad from Ann Arbor, and just picked up my F-body a couple weeks back:

It's a 1997 Z28, completely stock, 6MT and T-tops. Sitting at 89,000 mi right now. Massive step up from the POS Civic I used to drive!

I've pulled that stupid front plate bracket off since I got it, waiting for the badge that normally goes there to come in the mail. I'll have to fill in the two mounting holes at some point though. Happy to be here!

    EDIT: Fixed the links.

                  Thanks guys!

@Greg: No immediate mods planned, since I've basically burned through all of my savings on the car/registration/insurance. It'll be a daily driver and weekend autocrosser with the occasional HPDE thrown in, so eventually there will be a fair number of suspension and braking mods that I want to do. Before I start modding anything there are a few things that need fixing up though: a check engine light (P0441, evap emissions - more annoying than anything else), slightly spazzy temp gauge, 2 dead speakers on the driver side, and a really irritating squeak+rattle from the rear (hatch, maybe exhaust hangers? not sure yet) at idle.

sounds like you have a couple bugs and small things to work out, is there an after market stereo in the car ? maybe loose wires behind that causing your dead speaker issue. Also just wondering any relation to the eye institute ?

Nope, stereo is the factory Monsoon/Delco unit, pretty much everything on it is factory stock. I'm hoping that it might just be loose wires, since it's the woofer and subwoofer on the left side that are both dead, but I guess I'll find out once I get a chance to go poking around.

No relation to the eye institute, but I get asked that one a lot. If I did I'd probably be rolling around in a Z06 and not a Z28.
