Damn good job! What compounds and buffer do you use?Originally posted by baileydogg View PostI WISH it was only dust! I have most of the car looking ok except for the trunk lid and rear bumper and I'm almost to the point where I will have to give up. I really wanted to save the original paint, but I think the car deserves a new paint job now.
My only secret is time and patience. I started out with a medium compound to remove the oxidation and progressively moved towards polish and wax, it's been a lot of work.- Brian Meissen

I used Turtle Wax compounds and finished off with Meguiar's polish and wax. Nearly all of the compound work was done by hand, there was so much oxidation that I had to change terry cloths VERY often, You can see a pile in progress in one of the pics.

Frankly that possibility didn't occur to me. Thanks for the tip, I'll give washers/different bolt length a shot!Originally posted by Fbomb View PostWelcome to the site and good job with the paint! What kind of gaskets are you using on the headers? I've heard of the bolts bottoming out before the headers were quite sealed before...took precaution and put in some extra washers when I did mine.
