  • my 92 firebird.

    i have a buddy who has an s10 rear end with 4 11 posi in it. will this bolt right up to my firebird? i was told it might but im new to mechanics. im more of an electrical person so i figured i would ask some expert advice

        No and S10 rear will not bolt in.

            welcome to mifbody! As it was stated above that rear end won't bolt up into your firebird you'll need a 3rd gen or 4th gen fbody rear.

              not to hijack your thread, but... what's the difference? i was under the impression that my GM 10 bolt in my S10 was the same as the fbodies. i know i have leafs on my truck but...

                I could be wrong on this but I think the track ( width ) is different. I believe that the carrier and the gears are the same but the S-10 is not as wide as the F-body. Somebody help me if I'm wrong on this. I do remember guys with 3rd gens and 4th gens doing gears swaps with S-10 gears so I'm pretty sure I'm right about the carrier and gears, but I'm not 100% certain.

                  Wecome to the site. Any info on your car besides your working on it?
                  The S-10 is too narrow. Will not work.
