400ex is def what i would buy if I was gonna get a quad, those things are fun!!

Yeah my yz250 hangs with my buddies CRF450 and i paid aprox 1/4th what he paid. If i was gonna race, i think its four stroke all the way just because they are easier to recover from mistakes, but i do love my bike. My 400ex is just as fun though, i must admitt. I had a nasty spill this year and i have to admit that my last ride this year was on the quad, (i was still hurt, and it was easier to ride).

I'm looking forward to getting out and meeting people with similar interests this spring/ summer. I went and looked at my camaro a week or so ago, and pulled the cover off. It sucks to see it sit there, but its better than it sitting at my apartment complex covered in ice and snow.

mine also hangs with 450s, bone stock. Pipe and a reed kit i think i could beat a stock one. the thing that disappoints me is that 2 strokes are getting killed before we have the chance to see how fuel injection could make them perform. I think an EFI two stroke bike could be a lethal combination of power to weight ratio.

Yeah the direct injected Ski-Doo snowmobiles are getting awesome gas mileage and power for two strokes. It is ashame. The main reason i dont want a four stroke MX bike is the maintaince but i also dont want to be part of the "me too" group. Every guy who cant ride is riding a four stroke bike in the trails now. I'm not a motocross guy at all, i dont mind watching it, but its not for me. I like to ride trails, and to be honest not much can beat my 99 YZ250. Except a 2009 YZ250, but they arent that easy to find anymore, and i cant afford one cause im trying to buy a house. But i must admit i do like the new four strokes, and maybe when the replacement parts come down a little ( i mean $900 for an exhaust system!!) then i will really consider it. Until then im going to keep smokin!

yea i hear ya on that.

I dont know if yamaha's were like honda's but Honda started detuning em a little after 2001 which i believe is the most desirable year to have. The newer hondas were slow
