Thanks, Guys. I'm in the process of trying to track down the previous owners. I believe this was a Berger prepared car, (i.e. cam, headers, intake, etc..) but I have no documentation stating that. I want to restore the car back to the way it left Berger Chevrolet.

I hope to see Dan (our Club member I mentioned before) at our Club Christmas Party on Dec. 13th.

I can tell you a few things about your car from the photos you sent to Brian.

It's a Norwood, Ohio built car and was built the 3rd week of October 1969. It has the X Code of X33D80 which means it is a Z28 with the Style Trim Package (X33), and came with the factory front & rear spoilers (D80)

It had the Standard vinyl interior in Black (711) (which it still has) but it's original color was Garnet Red (PNT code 52 52 upper and lower) and it probably had black stripes (because of the black interior).

It looks to have all or most of the Style Trim stuff: chrome wheel well moldings, rear quarter chrome trim, chrome bars between the three segments of the tail lights, chrome drip rails, wood grain dash.

I can't really tell from the photos, but it should have a chrome ring around the headlights on the bezels, too.

I can't read your block number.

There are quite a few things changed under the hood, but like you are trying to find out, those may have been changed at Berger (but I have my doubts).

If that's the original screw on metal Berger "by Berger" emblem on the back and you decide to return the car to it's original color, be very careful with that emblem. They are basically non-existant now, and on the very rare occation that one pops up for sale, they sell for several hundred dollars.

Also, those emblems were usually mounted on a bit of an angle, so the line that connects the "y" and the "B" is vertical. But that may have been changed when the car was repainted.

This car has a lot of potential, like James said. It would probably be well worth your time and expense to restore it back to original as much as possible. Especially if it's a number matching car.

Thanks Doug. The block # is v0929 DZ, which should be a Flint block made on Sept 29th. I did find the vin # on the LH side of the block, on the pad just above the oil filter (where the dowel pin for the bellhousing is). It is a matching # engine. I hope to contact the previous owners this coming week to find out the history of the car. I'll keep you all advised on what I find.

That sounds good, Steve. There should be a matching VIN number on the transmission as well. Sounds like restoring it would be a great idea. Garnet Red is an awesome color, too.
