Is that mandatory. I'd rather just head up on Saturday or something.

i dont think its mandatory, just highly recomended. my g/f didnt go to all that stuff either. the only thing im not too sure about is the unit battle, they might not be too happy if we skip out on that but the way i figure if we had prior arrangements then oh well. plus they are getting $33,xxx per year from me so if i want to skip then im gonna

Hmm, could one of the elder Kettering scholars shed some light on this subject?

I would highly recommend staying. There is some orientation stuff that is really helpful. You do some stuff that will help you meet and learn about the other people in your unit. It is very useful for making friends, which you will definitely need. They will have the unit olympics that weekend, which is really fun.

I have tried to find these races before. I was around the McDonalds and Autozone off of 475 right by the old buick city. There wasn't a whole lot going on. Maybe I was in the wrong area?

There are youtube videos of people racing on 475. You can see them go by the downtown Flint exits.

I'm not athletic. Unit olympics sounds fun...to watch.

I think I'll go, then come back for the weekend, and head up Sunday. My friend did that (he's a-section, starting this year as well). He left the day before classes.

This is Kettering we are talking about, not playing college football. lol The unit olympics is stuff like jousting and soccer on inflatable bouncy things.

Welcome to the board! Not sure how I missed this until now, but hey better late than never right?

Where exactly are you located? Im on the corner of belsay and potter, right where flint, burton, and davison meet. My half of the sub is considered Burton though, lol.
