My atmel TPI chips came in today, got started on burning the chips. Im using the $6E mask which is MAF system without the cold start injector (aka... 1989 TPI, last year of MAF). The things you can do on the chip are amazing, fixed the pump shot (no more TPI slow throttle response!), changed idle speed, found out my throttle position sensor was only reading 88% throttle at WOT (fixed that, wonder what that cost me at the 1/4mile?), changed fan temps, AC disable when WOT, VATS removed, got rid of the old GM long crank-to-start, things like that. She idles great now, fires up without even turning over once and has incredible throttle response. Now where's my spring weather dammit!

        UPDATE:

Finally enough snow melted that i was able to get it up the hill and out of the backyard! Well actually my dad drove it out, I didnt want to hit his trailer which is parked at the bottom of the hill. The car semi-idles. It has a little bit of a miss but ive been datalogging and burning new chips and it has gotten lots better. We went for a little drive, it completely bogs when you get on it, way too rich of tuning! So Ill keep plugging away at it till its drivable then hopefullly put plates on it.

Little more news for everyone who cares (no one). Finally after a year of having the subs, I upholstered the sub box (no pics of that yet). I also reupholstered my sail panel speaker covers in black instead of gray as well as my visors. These will accent my new black headliner.

When I stripped down the headliner board though I realized just how big of a POS the stock on is. Its compressed fiberglass insulation. The solution? Some cardboard patches and a gallon of fiberglass resin. Yeah... its not so flexible now, muahahaha. Okay so anyways...

Yeah dont laugh its noobtastic but when its dry Im going to sand it down and make it all better. More pics after upholstery and installation.

I may not care... but, I'm damn impressed! This was my first look, and you've been a busy beaver this winter.

Headliner took the backburner because I needed the "paint booth" to paint. All the sanding of the headliner got so much dust in the "paint booth" that it was making it difficult to do the coats cause walking around would stir up dust. As soon as the painting is done, then the headliner takes center stage again.

ahh i see...ya know there is this thing called a vacuum cleaner that you can use to suck up excess dust from such things like sanding bondo and fiberglass

yes but thin plastic "paint booth" + vacuum = clog

Heres a quick pic for you guys after I finally got the amp holder upholstered. Yeah its crappy cause its all glary and grainy and my amps are small but oh well.

The headliner dried so I started sanding it. Going to need a little more resin here and there for low spots, but should have it done soon as well.

Another follow up. I went out and bought another GTA today... a "beater" project car. The car is actually pretty solid... no rust holes, but there is surface rust here and there. My dad got the 350TPI, ecm and harness & 2 700r4s but I got the rest. The rearend is a drum brake setup but the guy gave me a disc brake setup for it as well as the radiator and dual fan assembly. He even threw in another door off a formula 350. It looks like he swapped the wheels and spoiler on off the formula.

So... anyone need some tan third gen interior plastics... lol. I know theyre a rare color.

But anyways... my long term plan is cut the floor out, put a full frame on. Rollcage, Ford 9" with triangulated four-link, coilover front with tubular front clip. Something like LS1/LS2 or Vortec 5300 with a single turbocharger, wanting around 600 horse. Wheels - 18" something to match the "pro-touring" style Im going for. 18x9s up front with 18x10-12 in the rear.

                            ohh yeah.

                            lol

PS - Any ideas for a name? haha
